Nope, continue to march with what you believe, trust me it's much more entertaining that way.

I would be more than willing to come help you catch them,  just to ease that fisherman's elbow of course! I'll even provide the boat! Just tell me when and where!

Me Too.  Cheaper and easier to raise than muskie and to me more fun.  Mostly because I don't fish for Muskie.
There are time when between Cross Timbers and Sapp landing Hybrids are almost a nusiance.  A few years ago when crappie fishing you couldn't swim a jug anywhere without a Piranha like cloud of small hybrids attacking it.  The regulars say during June July and August at 500 CFS the Hybrids will be there.  Too hot for me at those times.

Siusaluki, you should just give up. I haven't joined the debate because I learned a while ago he won't admit when he speaks out of ignorance, won't admit when he is wrong and is hypocritical. Some of his retorts in this thread alone prove that. He reads or is told all his information, but then says he doesn't believe what he's told or "fed" by literature. It's not worth your time arguing with him.  You are correct, they do stock pure strain striped bass in LOZ, usually with overages once they are done stocking Bull Shoals. Him stating that there had not been a stocking for over 20 years and understands how hard natural reproduction is should tell his common sense that they have been stocked. MDC stocked them 2013, 2015 and 2017 after stocking bull shoals. I have been helping them track growth rates there. You are correct that habitat influences growth at different lakes. The ones in bull shoals are averaging 3-4 lbs a year. I have been catching them since they began stocking. There is 4 definitive weight classes there as well. 5-8 lbs, 12-16 lbs, 20-24 lbs and then the old dinosaurs that range from 26 lbs up to 60 lbs that were accidentally introduced by AGFC in 1998.

navery reacted to OzarkFishman in Headed down for some catfishing
The dock sits in about 12-15 feet of water and the bait was probably sitting in 18-20 feet.
We have caught a lot of fish off the dock this year. 10 pound flathead and another blue pushing 20 earlier this summer. Of course, lots of smaller fish.
I would recommend fishing 30-40 foot mudflats with your bait down around 10 feet for jug lines. That is where you will find the big ones (30+) ... at least in my experience.

Not that you asked,  but if I was fishing that lake, the red spots are the most hybrid and striper looking places that stand out to me. I usually look for places like these when fishing new water and usually find them. You will know for sure if you see boats on these spots near sunrise and sunset. I would start out in 35 fow and graph up into 14 fow looking for marks.
Good luck and let me know if you see anything like my graph pic at any of these spots.

They are running a lot of water through both dams so that is what is causing the current. You should try Warsaw next time. The catfish bite has been excellent.  We have been catching at least one over every trip with several slot fish and a ton of unders.

I knew you would have a rebuttal as you always do. I am not going to speculate as to why something is being done without fully researching all the variables. I also don't want to get into an argument over something as benign as water level. What I do know is,  the stats you posted are from the Corp "DAILY" info page and if you would scroll down a little further, it clearly says it is updated at 10 a.m.
I prefer to go by the USGS gauges which I provided a link below, but to be clear, I am not telling anyone what gauges to look at or how to live their life. I am simply providing other tools so others can be aware of them.

That's an Ego slider net and the TW lure is an Evergreen Shower Blow 125.  Also caught one on a IMA Skimmer.  I think any walk the dog type lure will work as will poppers and pencil poppers.  That Evergreen is a solid piece of hard plastic and really casts far.
The hoop on that net is a little small for stripers.

The red spots are where I would look for whites and hybrids. Fish the points and banks that the wind is blowing into. I caught 4 man limits with some buddies I took out Wednesday. Smallest was 8 lbs.  They were in 4-12 ft of water
