  1. Thanks guys, put in at state park today and the water looks great. Fishing however was spotty at best. Did manage to get in a school of drum and spoon them up! Kept the wife happy for a while, lol.
  2. Are the courtesy docks for loading and unloading available in the mutton ramp? How about ruark or state park? I will be heading up to the lake Monday and they sure make it easier to launch the boat! Thanks guys!!!
  3. Here You go! This is the best tournament for a kid around. I fished it with my daughter starting when she was 8 all the way till she turned 18. Real good guys put this on. They have it all figured out and help with the unloading and loading of the boats. All the kids get something and the money goes to a great cause! You must put this on your list.
  4. It has been about 15 years now, but I left my boat in at the dock ONE night. I took everything out except a couple of old cruddy spinning rigs. Of course that night thieves struck and took them! They also took a in dash factory cd player. My dads runabout was in the same dock and they got his cd player too! Made a report to the water patrol on both. It was probably 6 months later I got a call that they had caught a band that was steeling from boats at TR. They recovered some items and wanted me to come down to Kimberling and see if any of it was mine. I did go and they had a huge room with all kinds of stuff in it they had recovered! Of course mine or dads was not with it. 2 years later both my dad and I got a check in the mail from the water patrol, it was restitution from the guys they busted!!!!! Still makes me smile thinking how long they would be paying off their debt!!! They were steeling items then transporting them in trucks to KC to sell them.

    Finally !

Drum Recipe! Found this years ago on the MDC site and it is great if you like shrimp cocktail! Just fillet the drum and chunk into bite size pieces, drop in boiling water for just a couple of minutes. Remove and put over ice or in the fridge to cool, just dip them in cocktail sauce. They taste amazingly like shrimp, the texture of drum is about the same as shrimp. If you really want to make them look like shrimp just add red food coloring to the boiling water and the fillets will take on a pinkish color. The only problem with this is now that I know how much I like these they are harder to catch!
  14. I just studied the link more closely and it is for the special land management area's. Here is the link to the current fishing regulations. http://mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/resources/2011/01/2013fishsum.pdf
