  1. I found a MagWart during the tournament yesterday. All i did was change the hooks and cleaned it up a little bit, good as new.
  2. Josh won Big Bass with a 21.75" largemouth. And Kori won with a 78" stringer. I'll copy & paste the full results to my post
  3. That's my favorite thing on hot summer days, to throw a hollow body frog on those mats and those bass blowing up on it,
  4. As long as there's not lightning and 30+ mph winds were fishing Saturday. It's a roadrunner event so there will be guys at different parts of the lake. Please keep an eye out for them and be respectful not to encroach on them. Info for the tournament can be found at showmekayakfishing.org.
  5. I found the hooks to be fine, Gamakatsu long shank 2x round bends. I do have to say that the large squarebill does make the hooks look small but the bill helps keep debris off them. If your missing fish, it's because of your hookset. You have to reel into them and when you feel their weight, swing. I missed the first few fish swinging on them then I figured that out.
  6. Here's one around 8lbs, one of 3 that size caught by my buddy Eric that night up Bull.
  7. Evidently those people haven't seen the prices on other brands of kayaks (like Hobies).lol Cdh4088, if your on Facebook, look for the Show Me Kayak Fishing Association and the "Mo-Yak Fishing Series South division" group.
  8. All details can be found at showmekayakfishing.org But you don't have to be a member to fish the tournaments. It is beneficial (cheaper) to be a member if you plan on fishing more than one tournament, as there the tournament entry fee differs between member($30) and non-member($45).
  9. Free to launch. Stop by Ozarks Extreme Outdoors by Silver Dollar City, if you need any tackle for your trip.
  10. Kvd passed me as i was leaving work on friday. He was followed by Jacob Polwictiz (how ever you spell it.lol)
  11. I flipped my kayak yesterday on the River Run side of the dam. Here's the list if gear I lost. If anything is found please PM me or call me 417-365-9085. 12. Next tournament in two weeks on Table Rock Lake. This should be a good tournament with solid numbers.
  13. Travis Ueke took first today at Stockton which started out near freezing temps. Tyy Ward took second and Curtis Adams took third. Way to go guys, strong showing to start out the season. Joshua Summers won the raffle for the kayak and it couldn't of happened to a better guy, which was in a borrowed yak for his first kayak tournament.
  14. The rule on anglers is that you can not fish with a non-registered angler during tournament hours. Other than that it is mainly a solo event. But some registered anglers pair up to cover water. I fished last year's Taneycomo event with my younger brother (from separate kayaks). He outfished me and finished 4th, which I was happy for him, he was home on leave (Navy) and that was the first kayak tournament he got to compete in.
  15. It's not so much that we discriminate against solo canoes. The main reason for the strict use of kayaks is that the larger tournaments that the Mo-Yak Fishing Series is a qualifier for, require fishing from kayaks. Say we we're to let solo canoes compete and one of those anglers qualified for either the Tournament of Champions or the KBF (Kayak Bass Fishing) National Championship, what then? They both don't allow canoes, would you borrow a kayak so that you could go compete in those tournaments? November 2015 TOC winner won nearly $13,000 in cash and prizes ($11,900 cash) and the KBF NC winner won $32,700. I'd hate for someone to qualify for those and not be able to compete because either they don't want to use a kayak or don't have access to a kayak. And it would really suck to show up to the tournament location and automatically be disqualified because you're not using a "legal" watercraft.
  16. It's Time To RUMBLE!!! Yes, it's that time of year to kick off our first South Division tournament. It is this Saturday on Stockton Lake. Are you joining us? This is a great way to get out and do some fishing, meet some great people and have a little fun competition. And the weather is looking very nice for Saturday. Let us know if you have any questions. See details below... showmekayakfishing.org
  17. I played the roll of Tournament Director for this event. I had some fun fishing, lost 2 flatheads that felt like I was trying to lift a manhole cover off the bottom. One snapped me off and another straightened the jig hook after about 30 seconds of pulling drag. And I'm repairing some cracked guides today on the Denali jig rod that took the abuse of those fish. We had 4 guys brave the gorgeous weather at Thomas Hill Reservoir yesterday. Here's the results. 1.Dorman Hughey - 70"(5 bass) 2.Kori Whitchurch - 68.50"(5 bass) 3.Trey McGee - 66" (5 bass) 4. Derald Wilson - 52.25"(4 bass) Kori also had Big Bass at 18.75". The next North Series event is on Harry S. Truman lake April 23. Thank you to all the participating sponsors. #manleyrods #kayakfishingproshop #ozarksextremeoutdoors #jakkedbaits #quickbaits #conradfishing
  18. I say "shopping" which means, which of the 2 washers that my dad has does she like. My Dad lives in Harrison. But If anybody is going to the Mid South Tackle Expo next weekend in Tulsa. I'll be in Boomerang Retrieval Devices booth near the snake pit.
  19. Almost won Big bass at the Razoryak, March 6, except my photo was disqualified due to a hook in the way from my 8" line-thru swimbait. All of the fish I've caught from there were on swimbaits. No finesse.lol
  20. Too bad I wasn't there last year, I would've smashed the winning fish by 5lbs.lol
  21. I'm out too. Our washer quit working and Saturday is the only day the wife and I have off together this to go shop for one.
  22. White 1/16oz roadrunner or white marabou jig, sometimes a grub minnow in your favorite color
  23. I have caught them in Roark or Turkey from late April into June. Biggest i caught from Turkey was 3.4lbs.
