  1. I think a buddy and I are going to head out there tommorow and see what happens. A bit different than my normal trips to Taney. Lol I’ll report after I get back on how things go! Yeah
  2. @ruthead. @snagged in outlet 3 Good luck guys!
  3. @JestersHK Yeah I seen some big boys still cruising around especially on the last day we were there but of course time to come home! Crowds are one thing, but disrespectful crowds are another!
  4. Made it down to beautiful Lake Taneycomo over the weekend October 10-14. Overall I felt fishing was a bit slow compared to my last fall trip I made down catching numerous browns. Made the best of the weekend with the rainy and chilly conditions we had. It was mainly cloudy and rainy the whole time we were there. Didn't get skunked by any means but had to work a bit for them. Didn't see a whole lot of rods bent during the trip either especially the combat fisherman at war of Outlet 2. Only managed one brown while I was down out of all the fish we caught and the rest were bows. We got to the parking lot of the darn most mornings around 5:30am and the amount of cars in the parking lot day and night was absolutely crazy! Managed to do some night fishing as well and caught a few on white woolybuggers, red leaches, purple and black pms and green mega worms under an indicator with a glow stick. The biggest numbers came on the green mega worms during the day. Also caught fish on midges, scuds, dark brown san juan worms, tigertails, egg flies in pink and yellow. All in all was fun to get away and down to stand in the water for a few days and chuck a fly rod. Tight Lines! View full article

  6. @CLoyd@JestersHK Thanks for the report from over the weekend and some pics! I'm coming down Wednesday night after work through Sunday.
  7. Congrats on a hell of a fish Dylan Cluver!
  8. Phil, thanks for the informative information related to the DO condition!
  9. I had a similar experience as well SIO3. I fished Friday and Saturday and did well but wouldn't say great. I spent most of my time fishing around Outlet 1. Tight Lines!
  10. Thanks Johnsfolly! Keep at it and with the hard work and dedication it will pay off. Your brown will come for sure. I was in the same boat for awhile and never caught a brown, just rainbows!
  11. I ended up getting Friday off work so at the last minute I decided to zoom down to Taney real quick to catch a few on the fly! Friday and Saturday mornings the water was off both days. I fished mostly around Outlet 1. I primarily spent most of my time stripping a Tiger Tail, Cracklebacks(Red & Green) and Wooly Buggers (Olive). Caught a few on a Tan Scud (Sz18). I thought it was a slow morning as I looked around many people were struggling and very few fish caught. I still managed to catch a few and all in all had fun. Here's a few pics! Ill be back next month!

  13. Always nice to see nice fish being caught and thanks for the report!
  14. Thanks for the update! I haven't been able to get out there this winter yet for C&R but hope to before the end of it.
  15. Thanks for the posts! Enjoying the fish pics as well. Good luck!
  16. I did well this weekend on Cracklebacks(Red and Green)
  17. Report from over the weekend 10.14 - 10.17 We got down later Thursday night and hit the water late Friday morning. It seemed as if first thing in the morning fishing was a tad bit slow. All my fish came from stripping Cracklebacks in Red and Green along with Olive Wooly Buggers and a Grey Sculpin at night. There was multiple times where everytime I would look around the couple dozen indicator fisherman were struggling and come and going after frustration. I managed to still catch fish during it by stripping something. My buddy that I took along with caught fish on Midges(Black and Nickel/Red and Copper in size 18 along with Grey Scuds (Size 18) as well but just didn't produce as much. All in all I had a great time and caught a lot of nice fish! I figured I would throw out what worked for me so maybe some other folks may have some success that are headed down. Here's some photos of the fish I managed to catch. All fish were released for another angler to enjoy happiness another day!
  18. I may try my hand at some night fishing as were down for the weekend. Never really tried chucking anything big or even really fishing at night in general.
  19. Thanks for the reply Phil! I only ask because I'm bringing my buddy down first weekend of March and he's all new to trout/fly fishing so it should be a trip!
  20. Thanks for the pics! Looking forward to getting down there in a couple weeks. Can you get to Lookout Island without a boat to do some wade fishing?
  21. I know they make the single hook Rooster Tails but I haven't seen them on the cleos myself. I'm not sure on the whole situation I was walking out and just ran by a few folks and we're talking about it.
  22. Yep there egg flies. Just egg flies tied on a jig head.
  23. They were sluggish. Seemed to better fishing right after they shut the offer off. Caught a few maybe in the 16-18" range? Otherwise smaller ones, but all were the pretty ones, not the silver bullets. I'm not sure didn't measure them got them in quick and back on there way, so I didn't get any pictures either. Fiancé even noticed they were fighting and seemed as they were just swimming around gasping for air. They weren't active for much except for one guy that insisted he was killing them, come to find out because he was snagging them.
