  1. I might be interested, let me see if i can get a partner.
  2. We didn't catch our first keeper till about 10 p.m. Ended up with 3 keepers for 5.97 lbs. It was definately a lot tougher than i expected!
  3. Glad to hear he missed you! I really don't get it. Why is it so hard to put your phone down for your 10-15 minute travels? My job requires me to drive in Springfield for 10 hours a day. You wouldn't believe the number of people I see texting and driving. Not just young people either, I see people old enough to be my grandparents doing it as well. Pretty sad I feel more responsible than a lot of my elders. Don't get me wrong, I check my phone because my boss is constantly giving me new pick-ups/deliveries, but I always wait till i'm stopped at a light or at my next destination and it's a quick "ok" when i text back. Hell it's almost every day I avoid a collision with a texting driver, no joke. Not to mention a few times a day honking at a driver who is staring at their phone at a green light. I actually make a game out of it sometimes, guessing what cars are on their phones as they pass/i pass them, or guess how many people are on their phones in the line as they turn left. I could continue about the people who are in such a hurry to get to the mall to buy whatever it is they are buying who will run you off the road wile your just trying to do your job but this post is about texting and driving so i'll leave it there haha.
  4. I'll give Josh Butler with Fair Grove Marine another vote. I've only used him once but he treated me right and was very informative and friendly.
  5. Thats my club, only 8 boats this time.
  6. We have a club tournament going out at 6 there.
  7. Fished a small club tournament (8 boats) out of Sugarloaf this weekend and i guess there was a big bass tournament going on as well. I've only been fishing from my own boat for 2 years but I have to say it was pretty eye opening to why people talk so bad about bass fisherman. The most unfriendly lake I have visited so far. I got cussed up and down by a guy who said I was moving in too close to his spot, yet when we entered the area and was fishing down the bank, he was on the other side, farther back up the creek. Watched him shoot across and hold his spot on a foundation that was about 40 yards or so from the bank. I just kept fishing the bank and told him he was across the cut when we entered, but he just started cussin us and telling us were supposed to give him 50 yards and that he'd report us to the officials. I told him go ahead, were not in your tournament, were just a small bass club and I planned on fishing this area first thing and i'm staying away from "your" foundation (as i emphasized YOUR) and fishing the bank. He said a few more obscenities and name calling but i just kept going. Then later on in the day I had boats cut me off at points, blow by me in the creeks, and one just plain out cut me off running out of east sugarloaf.
  8. Our club is actually launching out of Mutton on Saturday morning. This time of year it can vary day to day. Spinnerbaits, small cranks, squarebills, shaky heads, small jigs, and etc. All seem to produce for me this time of year. Last weekend I was catching them on a jerkbait as well. Hopefully someone will have a more recent report for you.
  9. im pretty sure you can use lakemaster on Lowrance but not 100%. I know Humminbirds can use both cards so i just figure Lowrance would too.
  10. Have you looked at Lakemaster? I can't say i have any complaints about mine, well worth the money!
  11. Sounds like the same patterns and areas i tried Saturday with the same results. Wind was blowing 15 mph and harder though so made it tough to fish any main lake areas in my little boat. Got a few different tricks i am going to try this weekend to see if i get better results. Trying to decide if i wanna try the same part of the lake or head over to the Cedar Ridge area...decisions, decisions.
  12. for the guys asking about fluro on spinning reels, have you tried braided line with about a 7-8 foot fluro leader? Thats how my spinning rods are rigged up and works great for me. 10lb braid and 6-7lb fluro. EDIT, sorry i re-read the first post and saw you were talking about crappie, my setups are for bass. not for sure how that would transfer to a crappie set-up especially if you are using ultralights. Still might be worth a try though.
  13. No they don't but they do have an ebay store you can check out. not near the selection as the store has though. Should be able to just search for Sportsmans Factory Outlet.
  14. Key word "shouldn't". Lol I hope you're right but with our lawless leaders anything is possible.
  15. Jim beats every price BPS has. And if you find something that he doesn't I could almost guarantee he'll knock it down. I've even told him when i first started going there that i was price shopping but it didn't take long for me to become a loyal customer of Jims. I recommend him everywhere I go, and there is no sponsorship or anything involved, at least not yet! haha. I do still go to Bass Pro for the things I can't buy at SFO or if they are having a darn good sale on something, but 99% of the time his prices always beat BPS.
