You wore me out that day lol... my legs got sore watching you run all over front of the boat. I was content to sit back and relax. 3rd place counts too hahah. Last CAM losing to gunny by 1 inch about sums up my tournament luck hahaha. All in good fun and for a good cause though. Looks like Phil's moved it for us so hopefully we can go back to our tag team event.

Man I was trying my hardest to figure out how to make it down for Saturday and the wife told me it was canceled. I'm looking forward to the reschedule, and I'll try to bring some of the gang with me for sure.

Continuing my Bday weekend me and the girls got up and had 'big breakfast' as we try to do on the weekends. Making breakfast with my grandma is one of the last and best memories I have with her before she was killed in our car accident together when I was little... I don't cook much, but when I make breakfast with my girls it takes me back to that time with her every time. Got off track there sorry... so after breakfast me and my youngest headed to the pond to pick on some fish. At 10 she's got the spinning rod down pat and tied her on a hook and small bobber. It was hot so we went right to work and she popped a nice red ear on her second cast using some power bait in orange. Next she hooked a pretty decent size bass but it got in the weeds and came unbuttoned... Next was a small crappie followed by a big bull blue gill. She was kicking herself for losing that bass as we were discussing the pond slam and how she needed 4 species to claim it. I took her to one last spot and she tossed out and waited. Her bait got just out of sight when she got the tug and a good bend in the rod. She finally got that bass. Nothing huge but a great time with my little one.

Dang gonna have to get me one of those. Need a new pond hat

Haha well beginning of the week I was hoping for a nice mild day with no meetings and an easy schedule... that turned into a sticky hot busy morning and afternoon but I snuck out anyways for lunch. I only had a bit over an hour but took the fly rod out for a bit stripping a wooly bugger and man they were hungry in the heat. I also caught a crappie in my back pond which I had never done before back there and only ever seen a few. I was a red ear away from the slam, and I had a pretty good slab of a gill give me a ride. My lovely bride got me some cool stuff and a made me a cheesecake which I don't need but will indulge for sure. Yes I have a helmet on as she bought me some 4D upgraded pads which are pretty amazing for my night time adventures lol.

Thanks guys! I do have a date today and will be spending my lunch picking on my pond pets.

I'm still getting out here and there to fish, just not as much as I'd like. But yeah I'm making my last big push to finish getting setup to where I can actually find a job I enjoy vs being a slave to the $...

I may or may not know a guy who might of taken those pics lol My years pretty much shot other than planned trips from here on out... how I miss my freedom.

Dang that's scary, glad they were ok buddy. As for the fishing glad you got into them and wish you could of seen the sea monster... way to get it done man.

A great fisherman and person indeed. Will truly miss his posts here and prayers out to the family in their time of grief.
