  1. Awesome! I'm jealous. Good stuff!!
  2. What Billethead said. Welcome!
  3. Dispute between government agencies on whose responsibility it is? I would have to agree with Dutch. I doubt it. https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/local/ozarks/2018/02/07/whats-up-lake-springfields-southwood-boat-ramp/311221002/ Even though I'm a kayaker I would like to see it rebuilt because I know of many people who have a boat setup to go on Lake Springfield and can't.
  4. Thanks Quill! As always beautiful pictures.
  5. I have an old friend of mine that used to work at a convenience store and when someone grabbed a case of beer and tried to run for the door and he grabbed a can good from the counter and threw it and hit him on the back of the head and knocked him out. Store owner put the can he used on the counter for a while after that as a deterrent.
  6. How does he get out of the chair? With a great a deal of pain?
  7. You might check this out http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Lakes/Stockton-Lake/Daily-Lake-Info-2/
  8. Fishing from the bank can definitely be tough at times (most times) there. If you are fishing from a boat/kayak there is a map of brushpiles if you did not have that already. This is one example https://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/downloads/page/Fellows_Lake_FA_Map.pdf I have no other advice as I have not had good luck there either!
  9. Awesome fish! Sorry about the foot. That's a bummer.
  10. My name is pretty self explanatory too. I like to fish for bass from a kayak and I like to talk about bass fishing. My previous name was beginner yak angler which is still true and even less creative. The avatar is my pic of my kayak before I got some actual rod holders on it.
  11. McDaniel Lake would be another place to try. I don't know too much else about catfishing other than what you've already tried. Sorry.
  12. Took the yak to the James River upriver from Lake Springfield Friday evening. Caught 2 fish. Caught a medium size one on a t-rigged worm and caught a big one (well big for my standards) on a jerkbait that is my PB so far. Sorry pictures are not the best. First 2 pics are the bigger one. Last pic is the medium one.
  13. This website is pretty cool. You can view old and fairly current topo maps and layer them if you want. https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/topoview/viewer/#4/40.01/-100.06
  14. Not always updated every week day but it is something http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Lakes/Stockton-Lake/Daily-Lake-Info-2/
  15. If you get a kayak that you can stand up in that may possibly work. Depends if the arthritis is made worse by using those body parts or by being in one position for too long. The ones you can stand up in are heavier so putting in and taking out could be a problem depending how you are transporting it but they make solutions for that too. Wouldn't have to spend money on gas, oil and repairs this route either.
  16. I'm very jealous. Enjoy it and thanks for sharing!
  17. Also add a boonie or safari style hat and you're golden.
  18. Bass fishing tackle kit from Walmart - actually has a few things that should be useful. Yum ball cap and long sleeved fishing shirt rated for spf 30 or something. I'm spoiled.
