  1. Glad no one was hurt or other parts of the resort were damaged. We're thinking of you folks. Rolan
  2. I'm envious of you taking this trip as it's one I wish we had taken in our earlier life. Nova Scotia is another great destination and with a lot of unusual history. Have a great trip. Rolan
  3. We've received 1.9" of rain here in Kansas City So far this Wednesday 5 Sept. More coming. Rolan
  4. Welcome home Phil. Hope to see some pic and video's. Rolan
  5. I'm soon to be 87 and trying to stay active. I do exercise at least 30 minutes per day in addition to working around the house. I still love fly fishing and golf. Taney is my favorite fly fishing site as I have conceded the capability for long distance trips because of age. Don't know how well i will play golf this year though last year I could still play in the 80's most of the time. Had shoulder surgery 2 years ago from a torn shoulder from exercising doing 45 degree pushups leaning against a counter. I firmly believe we must stay active and exercise every day, if possible, if we want to enjoy our Senior years. Rolan
  6. Congrats Grandad and Megan too. Rolan
  7. I'm still having problems when trying to back out of a subject. Sometimes I need to close Ozark Anglers and reenter the forum. Rolan
  8. Bill: Sorry to hear about your Rotator Cuff injury. Glad to see your making progress. I had surgery for a torn Rotator Cuff on March 1st. It's a very slow recovery and the exercises are a must do every day. I'm finally seeing good progress and hoping to see you on Taney in Oct. Rolan
  9. Congrats. Russell. Nice Trout. Save some for me. -- Rolan
  10. Would someone explain the reference to PSD13, PSD16 and PSD20?
  11. Great report Phil. I really enjoy reading these Taney reports as you report the facts first hand. . My brothers and I are wishing we were there. We'll see you in early October. Regards to all, Rolan
  12. Thanks Bill for the great report. I'm ready for some fishing in Taney. See you on the stream next week. -- Rolan
  13. Phil: Wish you could post some pictures of various parts of the Trophy area so we can see how it has changed when the water is low. Rolan
  14. A very Happy Birthday Bill. It's been a pleasure to know you. Rolan
  15. 1/50 oz white, gray or chartreuse jigs under a float will work on a fly rod. You need to find the right depth to get bit. Adding some sparkle will help. Rolan
  16. Wow. What great pics and your reporting on how you made the shot. Tell us more about your camera and even post some pics of the setup. Great work. Keep them coming. Rolan
  17. Phil: Thanks for all of the reports about Table Rock and Taney. Wishing you a minimum of recovery problems. If I can help in any way, please call anytime. Glad to hear they are reducing flow -- just hope they don't lower it too fast before the lakes are pulled down. I was amazed at the charts indicating Table Rock rose 15 feet in just two days. That's a lot of water. I expect we will see many new changes in the stream bed and water flow when the water level returns to normal flow. Hope you will give us updates, when possible. Hopefully the scuds are still in abundance and haven't been wiped out with the strong currents. Rolan
  18. Leonard: Nice to see your back. I've missed your reports. Rolan
  19. That's funny. I never would expect that edit from you.
  20. Fly tiers--A reminder -- WE need to get our flies to Phil by early August to support the vets in this Healing Waters Project. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
  21. Great story Jeff. And thanks for your efforts to supply flies for the Healing Waters project. Rolan
  22. Nice informative report Phil. Your audio is very clear and greatly improved.
  23. If you go to a local hardware store they generally carry small plastic boxes. Ace Hardware has a small 6 compartment box for about $1.50 Sometimes they have these on sale for $1.00 Thanks to all of you for your support. It's a worthy contribution to remember our vets and what they gave for us and this great USA.
  24. Wanted: Ozark Anglers fly tiers to tie trout flies for supporting the upcoming Healing Waters Project in Lake Taneycomo. Lilleys Landing has sponsored the Healing Waters Project for the last 6 years (in August) to provide a day and a half of trout fishing for approximately 27 returning wounded warrior vets. They have also provided some meals and lodging. Some local businesses have provided food and a show for these vets. Several of the local guides and a few individuals provide their time and boats to take the vets fly fishing for this event. It would be appropriate for Ozark Anglers fly tiers to participate and tie a box or boxes of trout flies for this occasion. Only one box of flies would be given to a participating vet. Any extra sets will either be saved for the next season or given to the Director for dispersal for other needs. Guidelines: Provide a box or boxes of approximately 24 common trout flies you normally use when fly fishing Lake Taneycomo. I would suggest tying 4 flies each of 6 different types of flies such as midges, scuds, small jigs, soft hackles, egg flies, fry flies and/or san juan worms. Put a label on the bottom of the box that reads "tied by -- add your name" and send them to: Phil Lilley -- Project Healing Waters Lilleys Landing Resort 367 River Lane Branson, MO. 65616 We need these no later than the first of August. Who will join me and contribute to this worthy project.
