  1. It was a little slower out there yesterday, but the cold front had just come through. A couple of days of stable weather and they will be biting good again.
  2. I've been catching a lot of smallmouth, a few spots, and every now and then a black, along with a lot of these on Taney throwing megabass 110+1's
  3. I'll be out there Wednesday after a morning sit in the woods. It was a little tougher out there today. Fished 11:30-2:30 with only one keeper. Bright skies first day of cold front shut em down a bit.
  4. Hoping for a good water year too. Looking pretty good now. Hope it stays this way.
  5. They were already wet! Took my nephew to chase some walleye this morning. We got on the water right around 6:30. Stayed on the flats close to K Dock trolling flickers behind 3 ounce bottom bouncers. The sky be came dark, the wind blew out of the south east, and a little bit of rain fell, but the fish were biting. We picked up 2 little white bass, 4 short walleye, 6 of them stinkin bass, and 4 keeper walleye in that area. From there we headed up to Snap to finish off our limits along with 2 more short walleye, one 14 inch crappie, and a few more of them daggum bass. Off the water by 1. Pretty good day out there. Had to be going fast. 2.1-2.5 mph in 18-20 feet of water. First time my nephew has caught a limit of walleye. I charged him his walleye cheeks as a guide fee. He seemed to think that was reasonable😀

  7. You found Marcus the leprechaun! Good to see you getting serious about it again!
  8. Put in at K Dock early and headed down stream to sit in the woods for a bit. I was hoping for a chance at a turkey to no avail. About 8:00 am a big 8 point with a little spike in tow came by for a 30 minute visit. Got within 30 yards. Already tagged out on the buck, so I just enjoyed the show. Got out of the woods about 10:15 and changed gears to trolling for walleye. Hit every flat from Drury Mincy up to K Dock before catching my first fish around noon thirty. By 3 pm had 8 walleye to the boat landing only 5 of them with one being short. Tuff to land a big fish with a 9 foot rod, a 3 ounce bottom bouncer and a 7 cm purple fire tiger flickershad anothe 6 feet from the bottom bouncer. Had to alter my technique by keeping the rod tip in the water and swinging the fish up past the boat then turning into the net. Simply lifting would bring the fish's head out of the water and one shake and he would be off. Also caught 6 of them stinking bass in that 2 1/2 hour period. Fun day!
  9. Glad to see you can still fish. It's been a while.
  10. What's that WRH stand for?
  11. I have been throwing the megabass 110+1's in Ozark shad and doing good. Best bites have been 2 or more generators on the north and south side from cable to outlet 3. Then the north side down past boat launch. Trophy run side from trophy run down through narrows. I like to almost hit the bank then 3-4 quick jerks to get it down. 50% of takes happen right there. I start alternating my retrieve from there. Sometimes they like lots of twitching, sometimes long pauses. I fight the current with the trolling motor just enough to have some swing on the retrieve. Next biggest percentage of bite happens on the swing out, wether it has been o fast retrieve or a slow one
  12. I put in at Beaver a couple days ago. Ramp still not out of water yet but the ramp parking was starting to show
  13. Lots of info all over this forum on places to check out close to you. Lake Taneycomo might be worth spending some time on over the next month or so. Welcome to the Ozarks.
  14. Lookout island with 0 generation
  15. Some have started moving up. If D.O.'s don't tank on us, we might be in for a decent year. Caught these yesterday on a quick trip in the upper end
  16. I launched a few weeks ago from Beaver
  17. I'll just give to you on our winter get together. I'll have to dig around in a few boxes to find it. Just taking up space at my place.
  18. I really will sell it......or maybe we could trade a zig jig lesson on the white for it.....
  19. I have a real boga grip. It cost about $135 and that was 14-15 years ago. I split a rainbow's jaw with it in Alaska and never used it for holding a fish again. I found it to be great for bear protection while up in Alaska. One crack to the knee of any guest and I was sure to be able to out run them if any bear decided to charge. It also worked great for dispatching salmon just before bleeding them out. It has been sitting in a box in my storage for about 10 years now. If anyone is interested in it for bear protection or as a fish billy club, I'd let it go pretty cheap. Probably $10 or so. Might be some salmon blood on it.
  20. Sorry Trevor K. Couldn't help myself. 🙂
  21. I have noticed recently that all the browns in Taney with a clipped adipose fin are a lot bigger than the browns without the adipose clipped. I'm thinking clipping the adipose helps them grow faster.
  22. I was on the upper end from the cable to fall creek on Monday and only saw 1 dead fish. Could have easily been a mis handled fish. It is that time of year that D O's drop out and we did have a huge flood this spring which complicate matters.
  23. Yes. Mostly short ones but every now and then I'll get one 22-24 inches
