Perhaps you could run a jersey up the PowerPoles as a wind sock?

    Great idea!
Take a set of power poles, turn them upside down and stick them in the ground!
Then you can raise or lower them to get the best placement for the birds or the wind?

Launched at Long Creek ramp at 6:45 this morning, first rig in the lot.  I started out jigging a tree in 15 feet and right off landed a 15 inch crappie.  Jigged several other trees, not even a sniff.  I set the boat in about 20 feet and started throwing towards the bank and brought the jig back really slow and caught 11 more crappie in the next hour and a half.  The fish was scattered from right on the bank to 15 feet of water.  I needed 3 more crappie to fill out my limit, fished till 11:00 and could not get another crappie.  All fish were caught on 1/16th oz. green pumpkin chartreuse pepper tube jig.  Water temp was 58.5.

We had a fun day on the lake today without many other boats out there. We put in at K Dock around 7 this morning and fished till 3. Boated up to Snap and started working the roll off from the bluff to just past the cut with mega bass. Picked up a couple stinking bass and my sister, Jen was pretty proud of this one.

I told her to hurry up and toss it back so we could get back to fishing for target species.
We picked up a couple big whites up there before we decided to try jigs in the brush piles.

picke up 4 or 5 short crappies on the brush piles and the decided to try trolling flicker shad. Picked up a couple keeper crappie on the edge of the roll offs but was marking more fish up shallower. Caught most fish going with the wind staying in 13-15 feet of water going 1.7 mph. Had several double hook ups today. We caught 5 walleye with 2 being keepers, 15 keeper crappie and 7-8 shorts, 3 big whites, one giant quill back, and 8-10 of them bass and a blue gill.  Fun day with my sister on the water.

Went out with my old buddy Lou again and we found the crappie in the coves around hardwoods. Had and double limit with some 15 inchers. Lower James. 1/8 oz swimming minnow blue silver. 8 to 12 feet deep.

    Hi,
Had a guide trip on Monday.   Tried pulling crankbaits and couldn't buy a bite.    Got these pulling bottom bouncers in 20-25 fow.
Water temps were up to 57.

If someone put a screw through the hull of my boat I would be back on their doorstep with a bad attitude and request for them to fix it or better yet to pay for someone who is actually good at it to fix.  Either way they would certainly get to see it and me.

Launched at about 2:30ish from K Dock and wanted to catch some crappie and found a few on an exposed brush pile.  Caught about half dozen about 9 1/2" long and then the wind picked up enough for it to annoy me to hold on the brush pile.  So, hit a chunk rock bank with the RK and kept the boat in about 12 fow and really got into the bass.  On this one particular stretch, ended up boating about 13 fish in 45 minutes.  Most were short spots but had 2 keeper LM and one good SM.  Water temp was right at 45.

Guys, we all know that anytime you have extended periods of low water, there will be plenty of old, formerly sunken wood that dries out and is likely to create a boating hazard when the lake comes back up and floats it. At some point when TR comes back to pool, that could be something we all want to be aware of.
But MDC's brushpiles are only a tiny percentage of this wood. In an aging lake like Table Rock, we need all the wood cover we can get. I can't say I've ever fished an MDC brushpile intentionally, but it's good for the fishery in general to have all the cover we can get.
Most of us have boated in far more treacherous situations during the flood years.

Back to the floating debris.......Are you serious? Are you slamming mdc or just looking out for all of the boaters out there right now?  Sounds like a rant, but I might be wrong. No matter what the conditions are, most on this forum can navigate a few, if any "from mdc" floating obstructions.    Mdc brush piles are a very worth wile project.   If you haven't fished them, try it!
