  1. Leggy Foam Ant (Sz 16)

I started tying this pattern some time ago. To me it is all about the legs. Bill Skilton makes the legs. Ant / Beetle legs. I use the Reg size in black, brown, or green. Just yesterday I added the little yellow dot. Make sure to glue the top and bottom to hold the legs. I use Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails. Recipe : Hook - sz 16 TMC 100SPBL Thread - black or brown or red 8/0 Body - cylinder foam in black or brown to match size of ants Legs - Skilton's Ant / Beetle legs, Reg size in black, brown or green Optional yellow dot - yellow foam sliced thin and glued to top This post has been promoted to an article

  4. Tiger Trout?????

Shep Hills hatchery did try cutts one time back in the day.. it last a minute. We probably cannot afford to do something like Tiger trout .. imagine the cost to buy just the eggs ? When I did work at the hatchery they had purchased some 4,000 eggs from out west and they only produced a few hundred fish after all the stages .. one day I left and there were 36 and the following day, there were only 8. The same day 6 died.. the next day - the indoor pen was moved so I am sure they were fish food. It was kind of cool to walk into the spawn building everyday and see those fish... but they were too wild to be kept in a confined environment. The day they had 8 .. those fish were swimming around in such a crazy way.. they would inadvertently bonk their heads in an effort to get out.
  5. Jet boat tours?

I was just informed that the boat will not, I repeat NOT go upstream.
  6. Jet boat tours?

My folks rode one on a trip with a tour bus company and the jet boat loaded up all these older retired people into a boat to fly up the Colorado. Needless to say - they all got soaked and no one was pleased about it - my Dad was ultra mad because the driver kept making those turns that cause the water to rooster tail up and then he would drive it. Cold water.. no life jackets .. everyone very angry. I think this is a horrible idea for Taney and I bet it doesn't last.
  7. Crazy Flood Stories.... Danna's and Car Lot

Does anyone else think that Fall Creek flooded in the way that it solely because of that coaster ride being put in ? A very similar thing happened to my folks after the city cleared a path on a large hill for telephone poles ... our creek flooded the worst it ever had with the same amount of rain, something like 4.5 inches in one hour. I would imagine that the clearing for the coaster ride created a rushing of water that before never went through like that before. Imagine all the heavy equipment that was used to flatten down dirt and the concrete anchors used to hold down sections of the track. Truly a recipe for a disaster. If I owned that restaurant I would surely look into talking to the Branson Public Works Dept.
  8. We have it so lucky here sometimes.. slow water.. big fish.. easy wading.. I feel this can humble anyone who watches it with the same passion.

Been hearing that the leech pattern has been quite successful - but do not quote me on that. Or do.

If you haven't tried SPBL's, here is your chance.. with extreme savings. Super Point Barbless hooks are superior to anything on the market today. Please specify which sizes you would like - size 12 or size 14 (or one of each:-) $30 per box shipped USPS First Class / lower 48 Please email me directly - ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I accept PayPal as payment and will send you a PayPal invoice. Dry Fly, Down Eye, 0X-1X Heavy, 1.5X Wide, Forged, Super Point, Barbless, Bronze This is straight off the Tiemco Japan website; "The SP series features a hollowed curved point with triangulated edges. The 'slow-tapered' point lowers the resistance of penetration, resulting in accelerated hooksets and better holding ability - especially in barbless versions." IF you just want regular TMC100 barbless w/o the super point, I have em' too. size 14 only I also overbought on Tiemco TMC 3769SP-BL sz 10 and 12 - 125ct boxes. FYI - Tiemco no longer ships out 100ct boxes of hooks. Now its 125ct boxes, which is 5 packs of 25 hooks. Total = 125. If you haven't tried SPBL's, here is your chance.. with extreme savings. Super Point Barbless hooks are superior to anything on the market today. * ( these hooks run a little small.. so consider them 1/2 size down ) * Please specify which sizes you would like - size 10 or size 12 (or one of each:-) $30 per box shipped USPS First Class / lower 48 Please email me directly - ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I accept PayPal as payment and will send you a PayPal invoice. Wet Fly & Nymph, D/E, 2X Heavy, Sproat Bend, SP Point, Barbless, Bronze. This is straight off the Tiemco Japan website; "The SP series features a hollowed curved point with triangulated edges. The 'slow-tapered' point lowers the resistance of penetration, resulting in accelerated hooksets and better holding ability - especially in barbless versions." Same design as the TMC3769, except with SP point. An excellent hook for wet/nymph blind fishing where accelerated penetration and superior holding ability are needed. Barbless point doubles penetration ability. Easy to penetrate, hard to come off.
