Wow this is getting unbelievable- first post about people trolling information and not posting anything. Next crab about the guys who want to post about their info. Some of you people are unbelievable. I will continue posting my reports as I have. Just because I post my techniques doesn't mean someone can go out and duplicate it to the tee and have the same results

. And In regards to crappie and such. Do you think you are fishing in an aquarium. These fish move and move constantly. In regards to flicker shads sorry your not the first, I have some originals. Good god, some need to get a life or quit posting... For me business as usual and when I get down I will report. Off my soapbox and have a good day.

MDC and AGFC doesn't have exact numbers of natural reproduction and recruitment number for each year. Walleye are hard to sample. However, there have been several studies to look at the contribution of stocking walleye on the walleye populations in Bull Shoals and Norfork. While these were conducted well before I came into this district, I can summarize the results.

The results suggested that stocking has a bigger impact on the walleye population during low water years. During high water years, stocking has little impact on the overall population numbers. This suggest that recruitment (not natural reproduction) is greater during high water events.

With any sport fish fishery, recruitment (number of fish surviving to a defined age or size) has a bigger impact than spawning success. You can have a year with great spawning success (meaning many fish were spawned) but have a poor year class development due to poor recruitment. Poor recruitment could be do to environmental impacts, physical impacts, or food availability.

This same impacts of high water will effect most sport fish in Bull Shoals. These fisheries are very boom and bust unlike more fertile waters such as Tennessee River reservoirs.

Finally, remember fish that prey on fish will do so whenever they are hungry. They are going to try to eat anything they can get their mouths on. It doesn't matter if it is their brother or sister or someone's favorite sportfish. I've seen bass dead because they tried to eat a bass the same size as them. I've seen crappie eat bass and bass eat walleye. We have to release the nursery ponds with walleye in them when the fish are 2 inches because they start eating each other.

    Thanks

I think the specific details are ok depending on how they are presented. Ive found a few things......1.) Most people cannot replicate your success no matter how specific the information....theyll try for an hour then quit. 2.) The where, when, and with what info changes daily, sometimes hourly....obviously that depends on the species targeted, but usually its moot to go where someone else was catchin em yesterday. 3.) Heavily pressured waters hold few secrets. For example....I fish Busch wildlife in st louis frequently....great fishery, but giving up spots there wont hurt anything. In fact, i post EXACTLY how to fill the boat with crappie there (its not difficult), in hopes that fewer fish will equal bigger fish. All that said, you just need to be careful about the info you post and determine if you consider that place "special". Like Ham mentioned....a small creek that holds a few smallies....terrible idea to post that cuz a few people can decimate the area. Posting about catching fish off point seven from lake x during this time of year, not gonna hurt anything. This is a great site, ive learned so much since I joined its rediculous and if i can share just a bit of what ive learned than ill be happy. I think the overall benefit of this site far outweighs the few jerks looking to steal a spot.

Just for that, I am getting a wave runner, painting it orange, and towing alongside the Beast next time I am out - while wearing my jersey :-)

And regarding the topic name of this thread. I quit caring about the flw when they dropped the FLW walleye tour. It was one of the best walleye magazines out. THEN they started sending me their bass edition magazine after writing and calling them to stop. Anywhoo, carry on gents, I'll just be trolling about, both on the water and this thread ;-)

I'll be on the bull shoals thread now...I need to start trout fishing to or something.
