semble got a reaction from FishnDave in Weekend trip
We had a great trip. Put in further up river than the original plan. Water was a little muddy and there were plenty of long slow pools. Caught plenty of fish, had a good night camping and my buddy caught a 18.5" largemouth on his birthday for a new PB. Wish I could have gotten a pic of his fish but, hearing him hootin' and hollerin' from over 200 yds away was pretty cool.

semble got a reaction from snagged in outlet 3 in Pro guide AGM batteries
Picked mine up last Thursday, too. Got 2 Pro Guide AGM Group 31. Fished today with them for the first time. Held the boat in heavy current all morning. Checked voltage when I got home and was still over 12.6v on both batteries. First impressions were great, hope they hold up to my abuse.

I ordered a jon boat console once, and received a woman's purse instead. It was ugly, my wife didn't want it. I called, pitched a fit, they sent me my console....and told me to keep it or throw it away. I gave it to Orion to chew on. We got a kick out of watching him carry a purse around for a couple days. 😅

You got me paraniod! I haven't repacked my bearings for this season yet. Had to pull the hubs today to make sure all looked good.

She's cooked. The biggest issue is what kind of shape the spindle is in.
Don't rely on bearing buddies alone. They are a good idea in theory but don't hold up all that well in practice. They won't pump fresh grease in where it actually needs to go.
A couple times per year pop the cap off, remove the spindle nut, and slide the hub/wheel assembly off. Check the grease in the rear bearing, make sure it's still liquid and hasn't turned into coffee grounds, add new grease if it needs it. That's all you need to do.
The bearings and races are fairly inexpensive and usually not hard to find. Autozone and TSC usually have them in stock.

semble reacted to snagged in outlet 3 in 20, 20, 21 Brown
I've been down all week again. I went out Wednesday when it was real nice and caught the 17.5" rainbow and a few stockers. Didn't even bother yesterday with the beautiful weather. I waited all week for today and the cold, rainy weather they were forecasting. It was in the 30's at the ramp this morning and spit rain off and on until I left around 2. I caught them all day and only have pictures of the browns. 2@20"s and a 21". They fought like champs! I had two more on that I simply did not get close enough to see but they pulled harder than these did.

@BilletHeadI know where some decoy stealing, jerk line cutting, no good beavers live if you need some more backstraps.

There was a nesting pair not too far down the river from here before the big floods. Looked like the nest was being rebuilt this spring.

I second what RPS said. I might add some of us get really creative with our choice of proteins. Hold on tight this culinary adventure is a fun ride.

Bluewater. Welcome! Our little group has kept a thread going for more than five years. Over that time we have learned to plate and photograph really good food.
Everything posted here is good eats. Feel free to go back to the beginning and find the best cookbook you can imagine.
