I'm thinking about getting a new rod and reel combo Duckett 7'6" heavy I'd like to put braid on this combo but some of the lakes I'll be fishing in the waters clear enough that I will need to use a leader. So my question is will I have an issue with the knot on the leader going through the micro guides? I use a double uni knot. Thanks for any info or opinions

Has anybody tried the Z-Man shroomz Jigheadz I bought some from Basspro they seem like the holder keeps the bait on the hook good with out any glue I have not used them yet.

Has anybody ever fished from a 16ft Towee or Gheenoe Boat. My cousin is looking at getting a boat with a small outboard that he can use for fishing and duck hunting. mainly fishing some ozark rivers like the eleven point, and the north fork. If anybody has any opinions on these boats let me hear them. Thanks

Take a look at Coffeen Lake it's 30 minutes north of Greenville, IL. About 1.5 hours from Ofallon, Mo it is the best winter fishing lake I've ever been to. The lake has a 25hp limit the lake is plenty big for larger boats. The fishing can be amazing at times I've gone out there and caught 100's of bass and some nice ones too.The lake is fairly scenic for a power plant lake a ton of structure grass in parts of the lake and I've never seen the lake muddy even though its surrounded by agriculture fields. The lake gets alot of pressure but there is plenty of lake. You dont need to go all the way to the warm water end to fish the coves around the boat ramp catch fish on the coldest days there is picnic areas near the southwest end of the dam that look like you could launch a kayak.

I went to Bass Pro in St.Charles, Mo to get some Rage Menace baits but they were all sold out except for the blue and white colored baits. Word must have gotten around.

I'm heading down to fish Table Rock next Monday thru Friday to bass fish. I'll be staying near Baxter access and fishing from a smaller boat so i'll be limited to fishing within a few miles of the Baxter area. I have only fished Table Rock a few times mainly in the fall I did watch the BASS tournament so I got some good ideas but I'm worried about the cold front coming in on mon-tue does anybody have any advice on fishing in such conditions or should I be that worried about the weather? Any help is appreciated. Last year I set up a fishing trip on this same week and got snowed on at Pomme De Terre next year i'll push it a week later.

Try fishing the Rockford beach access on the Big river Its about 40 minute drive from Ofallon. I've caught my biggest smallmouth there 3.5 lb the fishing is ok.. The river is kinda trashy alot of old run down vacation homes from the 60's that people live in now. Its not bad once you get up river a little its the closest thing to ozark stream in the area. The access has a boat ramp I have put in there a few times you can go about 4-5 mile up river to Byrnsville mill. At the access there's a old dam from the old mill the best fishing is below this dam you can get a small boat below the dam. There are other accesses on this river that are better but a little further away. Check out Morse mill, Mammoth access or Browns Ford access

I sold a bunch of older tackle on craigslist last year to a guy that sells the tackle on Ebay he gave me a card I think his business was called Terry's tackle box you might want to check into that I thought it was going to be hard to sell the stuff I was selling because most fishermen want the latest and greatest tackle but this guy bought everything.

I hunt from the layout boat when alone but mostly use it as a sled. I can get a ton of gear yo the hunting area with little effort. I need to get the friends I hunt with to get get a boat.

What's the rule for the A-Rig in Illinois is it the same as Missouri where you can only use 3 hooked baits?

Got a few pics of my old crabby German Short Hair Bo this may have been his last year of hunting he's having trouble with his back legs and hips. He is a great dog never had to train him never could he never had any interest in retrieving anything other then a bird. Hopefully i'll be able to hunt him a couple more times with my new pup next year.

WENT TO TANEY ON WED AND THUR GOT TO ROCKAWAY BEACH AT 10AM WED MOTORED UP LAKE TO FIND THE BIRDS DIDN'T MAKE IT FAR. JUMPED A TON OF BIRDS JUST WEST OF BULL CREEK ALL ALONG THE NORTH WOOD LINE SO I SET UP HAD DUCKS TRYING TO LAND IN THE DECOYS AS I WAS STILL GETTING SETUP. ENDED UP SHOOTING 5 RINGNECKS AND ONE GADWALL. DANG RINGNECKS WERE EVERYWHERE AND ARE HARD TO HIT. THURSDAY I WENT TO THE SAME SPOT HUNTED FROM LIGHT TO 3PM ONLY SHOT 1 DRAKE MALLARD AND A GADWALL ONLY HAD A FEW PASS SHOTS AT RINGNECKS SEEMED LIKE THERE WERE STILL DUCKS IN THE AREA THEY JUST WOULDN'T FLY I WOULD SEE THEM GET UP THEN THEY LAND I WOULD TRY TO SET UP WHERE THEY WERE NOTHING. GOOD HUNTING DOWN THERE!

THE LAKE HAS SOME GREAT FISHING I HAVE CAUGHT SOME OF THE BIGGEST FISH OF MY LIFE IN IT 8LB BASS, 12LB CHANNEL CAT ON FLY ROD, 2.5LB CRAPPIE THE BEST TIME TO FISH THE LAKE IS LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING. THE WATER IS OFF COLOR OR BROWN THEN AND WARMS QUICK AND THE FISH GET REALLY AGGRESSIVE, SUMMER FISHING NOT SO GOOD THERES NOT MUCH COVER AND THE FISH LEAVE THE BANK. SO CHECK OUT SOME SUBDIVISION LAKES THERE ARE PLENTY.

I WENT TO THE LAKE YESTERDAY FISHED FROM 8AM TILL 4:30PM PUT IN AT COFFMAN FISHED FROM THE DAM BACK TO THE RAMP HITTING SECONDARY POINTS BACK INTO THE COVES CAUGHT 5 FISH ALL ABOUT 1 1/2LBS. ONE ON A A-RIG THE REST ON JERKBAITS. THE WATER TEMP STARTED AT 38 AND IT CAME UP TO 43 WHEN I LEFT THE WATER WAS FAIRLY CLEAR BUT THERE WAS ALOT OF SNOW MELTING.

Im fishing for bass but wouldn't complain if i caught some walleyes
