Sore Thumbs Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Is there any place to bank fish on table rock or do you need a boat. There are a lot of public ramps all over Table Rock. I would start there.

Give a hint as to what part of the lake you are wanting to fish in. Catfish and/or bluegill can both be caught from shore in a lot of spots. Give a general area of the lake you like to fish and I bet someone will have an idea. Members Mule659 Posted May 20, 2010 Members Posted May 20, 2010 I'm not even sure if it is still there but the port of kimberling camp ground used to be a great place to make a day of it. Come in, rent a spot sitting on the water. Then you've got fishing and a table to chill and have some chow if your family is with you. Last I heard the rates were still pretty good for a daytime use. I remember as a kid going in there and catching my fill on bluegill and catfish...even got some decent bass out of that area from the bank. Now even though I am in a boat I still go hit those areas and have been know to pull some good bass out of them still. Give it a try if you are going to be over in that area.
Members booger90 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Members Posted May 21, 2010 I am wanting to fish for largemouth i don't care what part of the lake it is.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 21, 2010 Root Admin Posted May 21, 2010 The dam area: Moonshine beach and the bank up and down from it. One problem though it the water is up in the trees so it's limited. BUT you can start at the auxiliary dam and walk to the main dam and fish some great water, esp the rip-rap. I have a friend who's caught (and released) a bunch of bass throwing a spook the last 3 weeks off the rip-rap.
motoman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 How about the Mill Creek Campground/Boat launch area past the 13 bridge in KC? I think that's all public, isn't it? - It's got that big peninsula of campsites. The campsites run down the center of the peninsula, then there's about 30+ feet or so until the lake all around. So it's not like you're anywhere near intruding on peoples sites. We've always done well fishing both sides and on the end of that peninsula. Plenty 'o' fish within casting distance of the shore!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 21, 2010 Root Admin Posted May 21, 2010 Remember, all bank line is owned by the corp to a certain water level, which is WAY up the bank. You can walk the bank even in front of homes or condos but you can't walk up out through private property. So you can start at any public access and walk up and down the bank.

I would second Mill Creek right now. We were in a boat throwing and there were guys on the bank throwing in the same area. I saw the bank guys catch two while we were there. It might be worth it to look at Cow Creek access too. I think there is a brush pile right there! Vision 5619 1 Tim Carpenter
