New Mdc E Permits. Yellow Ones Go Bye Bye!

Recommended Posts

Another problem with printing your own license, how is it going to prevent someone from printing several and giving some to their buddys who can't get one?

Good grief, you only need a license if you're asked and whether you have none or one not in your name it's the same result, busted.

I've never been asked for ID. Just a license. Licenses do not come with physical discription or photo's like ID's.

I thought I read that there was a deposit or fee for the current POS equipment.

Surely there will have to be a secure login to get your credit.

Years ago, in Grandad's old country store, we sold permits. They were numbered and in booklets, each had to be filled out by hand. There were trout stamps, and duck stamps. Post Office carried the Federal Duck Stamp. You never made much off of the sale, it was a convenience offered to the customer.

Now if they want to pay with a credit card, figuring the time you pay an employee to process one, it is pretty well a loss or a wash.

Wash- pretty much.

We had to be bonded back in 1983- if I recall it was $250. I don't think we've ever done anything else for equipment.

You're drivers license # , B-date and/or ss# is on any license. If the agent asks for ID, you better have it. He can pursue the ID all the way back to your car. I tell people in the shop to carry your ID when fishing for that reason.

I'm pretty confident MDC will do the right thing as far as these licenses... even if they have to tweak it after the fact.

Mine does.

You're right. I guess I never really looked at it close enough.

MO license:

DOB, Height, Weight, Hair, Eyes, Gender.

No DL or SS #'s.

AR license:

DOB, Height, Gender, Eyes.

No DL or SS #'s.

It has to have a drivers license # or ss #. We're required to enter one or the other.

If we're selling a daily or trout stamp or both, we can get away with just the birthdate and dd#/ss#. If the person is in the system, their info comes up and prints on the license. Otherwise, just the bdate and dd#/ss#- but they do either way. That's how an agent can identify the angler.

Funny thing, I have never been asked for ID, just license when checked by agent. The physical description is there, and I only carry my sporting license, not a photo id when in the woods or on the water if I don't have a wallet.

I don't think any numbers such as driver's license or SS# are posted on the license. Most vendors ask for previous license or ID for identification and info to fill out the permit. Drivers License is used to determine residence or address.
