What's the plan for these chestnuts? Nesselrode Pie?

Not real sure yet. Maybe plant and giveaway again. You got room beside that beautiful rustic deck of yours?

Not as far as I know, and I've done some research.

It was a thing in the 1800s and in NYC in the mid-1900s. Aunt Bee made it in an episode of the Andy Griffith Show.  I guess it's got sentimental value and some fans out there. I've never had it.

        Tidying up,

Boy I hated to do this. There were five trees left in the original planting. The others had been transplanted in other places in the yard. Two of these five were smaller and really close together. They have never produced nuts yet. They needed to go and it broke my heart,

thumbnail_0213181138[1].jpg  Removed them both, trimmed lower branches on the remaining three, thumbnail_0213181212[1].jpg  Spread some fertilizer around the drip line.

The Ozark witch hazel is blooming!

Bees were out messing around. Mostly pulling out winterkill bees and dropping them out in front of the hive,

Good to see some spring poking through after the ice issues. May mean some Missouri darters may be in their spawning colors when I get backthere next week:D!

Sorry didn't mean to bring up fishing on this garden thread :P!

I'm hoping we get the temps and the rain that are forecasted. I'll get some little trees  in the ground.

I will get you some of the seeds from the tree at my daughter's place. Use them as you see fit.
