Fall Turnover

It's been way too long since I've been down and I really need to scratch this loz crappie itch. How's it been lately and what's the turnover looking like, particularly on the lower end? I assume it's already started. Does that thing shut the crappie bite down like it does greener fish? I've got access to a kayak but I usually just target them from docks.

I'm gonna try to make it down a few times in between now and ice out.

Fishing has been excellent around the mid lake area for largemouth bass and white bass. Sunday we had 26 largemouth in the boat in around two hours of fishing. Later we went on to catch ten nice whites. Water is pretty clear and lure choice did not seem to matter much. Spinners and crank baits ruled the day for us. We even had a double a couple of times Sunday. We did not target crappie.

Before, during, or already turned over?

I fished November 2nd and October 18th around the mid lake area and the water is clearer now by far than it was a couple of weeks ago. This has been some of the best fall fishing in a long time for me. The fellows that live around the lake will have to talk turnover with you because I saw nothing during October and it is even clearer now.

Any current water temps around the 7mm? I am coming next weekend and trying to determine of there is still a Buzzbait bite, or if it has started or ended for that matter. I had a little success with it mid October, but it surely wasn't gangbusters.

56-62°

You can still get bit on a WTD bait around steep seawalls, but the buzzbait bite is probably done.

The white bass are on fire everywhere, and the bigger crappie should start getting easier to find any day now....if not already. I haven't tried the crappie yet myself so I may be late to the party.
