Why would anyone ruin wine with spam and PEAS!!! Blech.

Mac and cheese is horrible too.

Ha! Why the heck would you ruin perfectly good spam, or any meat product with wine! Nasty foul fluid!

Heck yeah!

Spam?  Have you ever done the Spam kabobs, with pineapple?   Good stuff!

Haven’t had spam since I was a kid. And I’m ok with that.

Going simple diner style tonight. Browned chicken thighs finished in the oven, flash cooked broccoli, and rice made with chicken broth.

My mother, bless her heart, fried spam in bacon fat on the griddle and then fried pineapple rings in the left over grease. Then she tossed iceberg with radish slices in Kraft Italian dressing and called it dinner. I have worse memories, but you don't need to read those.

I may have thrown up just a little bit reading that.  My kids were straight velvet mac and cheese, I like to add a little extra sharp cheddar or something.  Oh and pickle wraps are delicious.

Started with a nice Bloody Mary (mater juice, lemon juice, celery salt, chipotle powder, seasoned pepper, horseradish). Just a splash of vodka, because that’s the rule, but I really like it better virgin

Then a little ho’made guac (chips were store bought)

Then, halftime was gumbo-liscious:

Chicken thigh, andouille, shrimp and leftover crab from last night. Scratched my Cajun food itch for a while.

Popped a Zantac and I’m ready for bed 😄

I don't care for Vodka in my spicy tomato juice either.  Hooked on regular clamato with a dose of Lea and Perrins.

Your dinner looks and sounds delicious.

Please spare us.  Broiled spam, broiled pineapple rings, two over easy eggs and some crispy hashbrowns, well then now we can talk.

I love Spam - think slices right out of the can, mustard and white bread.  I realize it ain't a health food, so I don't do it very often.

Not too far off topic - we just got back from Port A and there is an old style German place just down the road.  Got a half pint of their homemade lieberwurst and a fat cheese bretzel to have for brunch out on the jetty.  Not health food either but boy howdy.  Was it ever good.  I'm guessing once a year probably won't kill me.

Have you ever tried it smoked? Makes good even better!
