Striper action

Recommended Posts

Was running down the lake early yesterday morning and there was tons of people striper fishing in the Rocky Branch area. Talked to a couple guys that caught a few on top water. And I know of a 27 pounder caught this morning on top.

Trolling isn't working for me anymore either.

Even white bass won't hit a trolled bait in years past, they were like the seagulls on the "Finding Nemo" movie. You couldn't get a trolled bait past them without them hitting it.

I honestly think everyone is trolling a lot more on the lake than years past and that pressure may have created some flak. I could be wrong but there is a definite difference and quite noticeable. Also, I see tons of people trolling now where it used to be just pleasure boats and bass anglers.

Very true doc. I see a lot more trollers out there. Me being one actually. I've started trolling in fall for stripers 3 winters ago. I don't troll all year but, sure enough as the leaves start to Change so will my fishing tactics. I'll be out there dragging minnow around. Chasing the "big one"!
