Lake is a rising

Recommended Posts

'86 was the year I had in mind. I figure we were at 662 by the level on our sea wall this eve.

All caught on deep diving cranks. Some day I'll remember to save some screen shots of one of these feeding frenzies although it would not do it justice; a video would be better. One of those heart stopping(for me anyway) instances you can actually see movement in sonar returns, and I mean A LOT. Looks like a screen full of crawling gummy worms.

I love when they move water. Caught these this afternoon along with a 6# LMB and a 10# blue cat from this same school. I remember it being 2' higher than where she sits this evening; we shall see what comes tonight.

I don't want to see any damage to docks, etc. but high and rising water makes for good fishing!

very cool!

I second that. There has been a cruiser flying around here for past couple of years must be 50 ft. I was fishing up on soap one evening last year and he ran about 1/2 throttle all the back to the no wake bouys then turned aound and came back down. Had to get off the fishing seat and sit on the fore deck gripping both sides of my 18 ft Targa. He could very easily thrown me into a dock wrecking the boat and killing me. He would have gotten away with it also.

The powers that be have mentioned "closing the lake to recreational boating" but I am not gonna miss out on this golden fishing opportunity.

I'll give my bride some bail money or whatever, but I WILL be fishing the bushes....come hell or high water.

If the wake from a WP Donzi won't hurt anything then neither will the wake from my 18' bass boat.

I would like to see how they try to close the lake to boating; there are not enough prop cops to even consider that.

Yes, there are some good bushes in the water now - looks like Bull Shoals is areas. I was pitching a suspended jerkbait on the outer edges yesterday and the tail end of the rain and had some good ones. Fun stuff!

To find bushes at LOZ you got to be in the very backs of the creeks I'd guess.

I was fishing bushes on main lake points and bluff pockets with deep water nearby. All you find at the backs of creeks are those green fish ;)

Realistically there is no way to close any of the major lakes to recreational boating, especially over the July 4th weekend. You can post advisories and warnings, but thats about it.
