Walleye report

Recommended Posts

I remember a July 3rd in 2000 where a buddy and I each caught a limit of Whites and Crappie in about 40 minutes with a couple of walleye and LM bass to go with it. We were right between Birch Branch and the old Point 9. It took longer to clean them than to catch. Nobody but those who saw all the fish believe me. It doesn't surprise me when I hear stories about it turning on real quick on the lake. Having a day like that makes the days of not catching anything worth the time on the lake.

Wife and I went yesterday. The fishing was tough till noon. only had a couple before then Ended up with 44 walleye 10 keepers. Fished from 7:30 to 4:30. When the sun cam out around noon they turned on. Most came in 15 to 20' of water few on jig and crawler most on bottom bouncers and spinner rigs. I have pics of the 8 that made it to the box. Cant figure how to get them on here will keep trying. One more thing I would like to say I didn't put the 111 fish post on here to cause arguments rather it was the first time we had that much success in that short of a period. Earlier this year I couldn't buy a limit. But the last month has been phenominal. The hotter and sunnier is seems to get the better we do. The worst thing about it is as u may recall I lost my father in may of 2014. I wish I could pick up the phone and tell him about it or him be in the boat next to me. But I have my wife sister and brother in law to share it with and for that I am thankful. Don't forget to spend time with the ones you care about most cause u may not be able to later.

The guides and great wally fishermen's could post exact locations, tactics and put me in the boat and I would still fail. Occasionally I can catch walleye but the few times I have tried the bottom bouncing of night crawlers I brutalized the drum and small channel cat populations, but never even saw a wally.

if I didnt know better I would say that i wrote this post. sounds like we are meant to fish together mopan. by the way i fish stockton and pomme (crappie) and I appreciate your water condition and other helpful reports. keep it up.
