Thanks to all who replied to my inquiry as to a good dependable spinning reel back in June. After reading all the posts, I bought 2 pflueger Presidents and a Cabala's Prodigy. Well, after 5 floats over the last 3 weeks, the President that I use 70% of the time is already starting to bind on retrieve. There where so many good reports on the President reel that I thought I had found a good inexpensive ($50) reel. Well, that is not the case for me. I fell victim to the "low price" again. Back to Cabala's she goes.

So now,,,,,,guess I need to look for a reel that has "shielded Bearings",,,,,,,,,,,,ANY SUGGESTION???? AGAIN.

BWT,,,,,floated yesterday and caught lots of good ones on topwater on a frog,,,,,,,,,one largemouth 20". That cooler weather was a bonus.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, since I happen to own two Patriarch's, I cannot disagree with the reviewers top choice. They really are remarkably light and so far (first season) 100% satisfaction.

I thought they looked pretty good too. It's a lot of $$ but if they perform well and last a long time it would be worth it (to me). I never had a problem investing in high quality tools.

Same here. Work, or home, hunting, fishing. Good tools are a pleasure to use and hold their value.

Quantum Smoke PT inshore...I love them fully sealed and has a huge diameter spool....I recommended it earlier I thought???...mine just sat in the back of a raft with Mitch Fields and his daughter and my daughter on a float trip....the reel sat under dirty water for up to an hour at a time and it's fine.
