Bass in Taneycomo?

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I'm new to this forum and also this area. I'm a freshman at MSU and during Labor day weekend I'd like to do a little fishing/exploring. I've heard that there are some nice bass in Lake Taneycomo. I can't find a whole lot of specific information so I thought I'd ask you guys. Where is the best place to go on Taneycomo for bass? Is there any specific area(s) you guys would suggest? I don't have a boat, but I'm willing to drive or walk a ways to get to some fishing. Or maybe if there's a place I could rent a canoe or kayak to fish from. Like I said I'm new to this area so any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a'million,

Empire Park, near PowerSite dam or Rockaway Beach area is the easiest to get to by foot. Topwaters, spinnerbaits, and weedless rigged soft plastics (worms, lizards, flukes) are effective baits.

Ozarks Extreme Outdoors does take rentals to either area. Give the shop a call for a quote. 417 230 9314

A trout stamp is not needed on Tandeycomo down lake  from the Hwy 65 bridge at Branson unless you keep trout in possession.

"Permit required to possess trout, except in trout parks where a daily tag is required. This permit is also required for all winter fishing in trout parks (catch-and-release) and for harvesting trout or fishing at Lake Taneycomo upstream from the US Hwy 65 bridge."
