What's a good weedless lure can cover water quickly from the banks?

Recommended Posts

A Spinnerbait is pretty good from the bank with regards to hang ups and covering water. Crankbaits like a square bill can be ok, you just can't be as daring with your casts.

A Texas rigged worm is also a good option from the bank as a lure that won't get hung up easily, but I usually work that pretty slow. Not your typical "covering water" speed.

Fishing weedless from shore with a fast pace? Can't beat a spinner bait however floating rapalas or rogues tend to be my "go to" since you can control how deep the bait goes. Don't forget to go top water either. Spooks, chugRs, and frogs can do well also.

A lot of our lakes have minimal shoreline fishing, so at times walking a distance to get to a good area would make me want to slow down my fishing, and rest between walks. ?

With that said, and depending on time of year, it's hard to beat a Texas rigged worm or jig. Fish on any body of water will eat those from a shore cast.

With all the talk about Ned rigs and high-dollar jerk baits here, it's sort of unusual to hear folks talking good old Texas-rigged worm rigs and spinner baits. I thought those were hopelessly out of fashion :D

They are. It's pointless to try and use them. Fish are no longer interested in biting those lame lures.
