Short report and fishing etiquette question

Recommended Posts

Use to get people pull up close to me out in the Gulf of Mexico and on the grass flats and i would just politely ask them if they just wanted to fish out of my boat with me and they would give me a dirty look and leave...lol

I agree with Hammer Time that, even though we are a shadow of what we once were, we are still the best Country in the world. But I also agree with Bo. As Ronald Reagan said, the freedoms we have are never more than one generation from being taken away.

OK guys I was actually looking for some fun responses like doing donuts around his boat yet knowing that we would all just move on to another spot.  Heck, I've only been here a few months and I can generally catch some fish just by moving down the lake which is just what I did the other day.  That said, I tend to agree with Merc1997 and Champ188 that just maybe if we say something to these rude guys that just maybe they will think next time.  Then again I do like my "doing donuts" idea.

I don't get to Table Rock enough to post much of anything nor do I catch many fish.

That being said, I fish simply for the enjoyment of being out in nature and RELAXING.  I have seen mink, deer, fox and many other critters, on the shore and in the water, while out in the boat.  I do keep some crappie once in a while but no Black Bass or any other bass.  If someone cuts in front of me I will say something to them.  If the reponse is somehow bad, I might fire the Merc and leave with a sizeable wake.  Just depends on the mood I am in.  I try to be polite about where I am fishing.  I don't try to make people mad and I dont want to be ticked off either.  One of us might need help later in the day.  I might be the only boat in the vicinity of you when your batteries go dead or you run out of gas. AND a storm is starting to move in.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto  you",  I think that's how it goes.

I am going to try to get down there the weekend after Mothers Day.  I will be in the Eagle Rock area in a beat up old AstroGlass, blue mostly with green on the rear corners, with a 115Merc on the back.  If you see that boat come up and introduce yourself, I would like to meet you.

Tight lines people!

why is it always bass fishermen who bitch/gripe about people fishing too close?

I don't mind if someone is fishing right beside me. Pulls in front or behind, follows me.

I just don't care...

It's called common courtesy that's why? Duh

it is called go find your own fish.  there are many that are just too lazy to do anything for themselves and even in fishing there are those that see someone catching fish and think like the liberals and everything is shared, so they think it is okay to just move in and share the wealth.  go find your own spot.  it is that simple.
