When the lake gets too rough for a 44' MTI running at a moderate cruising speed I'd say it's time to admit that we have a wake problem.

It's the size of his brain that really caused the problem.

When a boat starts uncontrollably chine walking....standard protocol is to get OFF the throttle, not hammer down.   This was a serious rookie move.  Hope some learn from it.

Exactly! He was chine walking from the very start of the course and got a lot worse towards the end as shown here, not sure what he was thinking but he must have some big cahunnas

The soundtrack from the video would make good promotional material for the local chamber of commerce.

Kidding aside it is a sad day and I hope someone learned a little about how dangerous boating can be.

His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The bodies of Richard "Richie" Prince and Bradley Dunphy were recovered just before noon on Saturday, Aug. 27 after a tragic powerboat crash on Friday evening, Aug. 26.

The Patrol says 49-year-old Prince and 40-year-old Dunphy were riding in a 2013 MTI, with Prince driving, when it went airborne at around 7 p.m. on Friday. Witnesses told the Patrol that the boat rolled to the starboard side in the air, struck the water, and then flipped upside down.

My wife and I were having dinner with another couple outside at Baxter's when Prince's boat went by heading toward the dam. I noticed it because it was catching air and I pointed it out when he started losing control. He backed off and it settled down a bit as he went out of sight. Pretty sad to think they died minutes later.
