Whatchya Drinking?

Recommended Posts

I don't really care all that much either but take perverse delight in the ongoing frustrations of Cubs fans.  There's just something really cool about a good curse.  Too bad about that one in Boston.  But now that I think about it, losing another world series, in the bottom of the 9th with victory seemingly in hand, only to be vanquished yet again - well that would be pretty awesome.  :D

This is a Cynthiana (or, Norton) from Stonehaus Farm winery in Lee's Summit. Anybody in the KC area that likes good wine and a nice atmosphere should make a point of getting to this place.

I was really happy that some craft is making it's way into cans for the rivers. One can only drink so much regular beer in the summer. My favorite for that has been the New Belgium Citradelic, but now we are transitioning into fall so I'm finishing that up to make room in fridge. The Oskar Blues beers in cans were good this float year as well. All purpose go to is Coors Banquet.  I just finished my primary fermentation of some local apple cider but it will probably be near Thanksgiving before I get to pop a bottle of that. As far as the hard liquors: Vodka: Titos and club soda with a lemon Bourbon: Old Charter on rocks splash of water (Basil Haydens is outstanding but expensive) Tequila: Sip on any good Respasado and if I find a little extra cash I will spring for an Anejo, Cenntenial and Cazadores are my favorites currently.

Just stop it. Drink your drink and quit prattling on about it. Sit next to this guy and tell him about your small batch tequila or ultra hoppy IPA. I'm quite sure he'd lend a sympathetic ear.

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale has got to be one of my favorites right now.  But give me a nice IPA and I'm good to go.

I've got to circle back and try that Dales. I've eaten at Oskar Blues in Lyons a couple times, but don't think I've ever had their beer. They do a good job at the restaurant. I see the beer in the stores here.
