Daryk Campbell Sr 1,700
Sorry I was talking a picture #2. Haven't been to Roaring River since 2009. Rode the big storm out in September 08 in campground 2. Quote Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. mhall02 14
So where do the big browns come from? I remember when they started stocking stocker size back in the mid 80s, they seemed to really stand out to me. Would be surprised if something that big would last too long in a stream that small. Would stand out like a big ole log I would think.
timsfly 45
The MDC usually stocks 12-14 inch browns, and you would be surprised at how many make it to 18". and we see 5-8 pound browns every year, and the MDC only stocks a few each year at RR Daryk Campbell Sr, JestersHK and Johnsfolly 3 Quote Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
mhall02 14
They are elusive. Remember they would come up to a dry fly, circle around it then drop back down or go ahead and take it, not just pounce on it. You could tell they were really pondering what it was they were looking at. Need to get back down there one day.
Johnsfolly 9,445
The Folly family fished RR trout park today. Water was still pretty dingy and the fishing was pretty slow. Livie caught both banded and Ozark sculpins. The one Ozark sculpin had a surprise in store, another smaller sculpin that it had eaten. The small sculpin was still alive, but just barely. When Livie let the two of them go, she swears that the large one ate the small one again. I did catch a couple of nice trout on white and also on salmon colored 1/125 oz microjigs with a small split shot above the jig. grizwilson, BilletHead and JestersHK
