fishinwrench
Rivers are pretty easy to fish. Sure there's gonna be days where you don't do so good but when several good fishermen get blanked on a certain stretch of river that's a pretty clear indication that there aren't many fish there to be had. I haven't heard a success story come from that area of the Meramec in over a decade.
Gavin
It is a tough stretch. Hour & 1/2 from town. Does not fish well after September 15. To much boat traffic & the trout seem to disappear.
Haris122
First few times I went, in winter 2 years or so ago, I did actually really good. I would get a lot of bites. Not always heavy in trout, but a lot of action. Ever since been hooked on it. Though I guess a lot could've changed with that last flood.
Gavin
Usually a bunch of deer camps in the WKW this time of year and they jet to them, gig fish, fish, kill deer & turkey. Stl TU wants to do a a study about were the trout go down there. Would not be surprised if they go into a monkey dodo pile behind a couple deer camps. snagged in outlet 3
bkbying89
I have been told that that section fishes poorly until late winter, that may be true. I fished it for the first time last winter and caught fish but nothing since. Bill
