I ain't new ta nuthin'!

Recommended Posts

So I checked out for a few years, call it a temporary hiatus for the sanity of those around me...  Not much has changed really, moved on from car sales to home sales.  I went to the river to visit with Fishinwrench and someone there asked why I don't post on here anymore.  Frankly I couldn't come up with a great reason..  So here I am!

If you missed me, check in!  If you never liked me, fine..  Go away.

I am sure a few of you might like some of my memories though,  I've been around a bit..  I am sure Chief and the rest will remember this one from a Shoal Creek float...

Yeah anywhere you can drive a sedan right down within spitting distance of the river is most definitely a carp hole.

Naw Chief is still around, he posts mostly in the cooking section. :D

no the dude that owned the land on both sides of shoal creek as it hit the KS line, he tossed a hissy when people started floating from Joplin to Schermerhorn Park... few years back..ended up in court....that whole area is so grown up now..and in the 70's you rarely saw anyone fish other than the falls...we lived in a house on the biggest rapid in the state...just down from the old quarry bridge thats no longer there...great place to wade fish and grow up....or was....that riffle had hellbenders and many odd minnows...I might need to micro fish it sometime just to see if some of the many species are still there...running around the area exploring the glades and critters that lived there... Missouri tarantulas even a scorpion, shrews...

they cut a great deal of timber out on the west side of the creek..last few big floods have ripped that bank wide....doubling the width of the stream....why they felt the need to cut the stream side timber Ill never know....
