Paint a fishing rod?

Recommended Posts

I know a bit of a strange question but, my grandson wants an orange fishing pole, goodness knows I have more than enough fishing poles for me, him and any others who go.  The one I have set aside for him is a cheap 5'6" UL Wally Marshall so regardless I am not risking much.  I could easily take a can of whatever orange paint I find and give it a quick color change.  Anyone ever do something like that?

I will take a look at Wal Mart the next time I make it to town.  Realistically it won't matter if the orange paint flakesoff some, so long as grandson is enthralled with it and claims it as "his" I will be happy.  By he time a significant amount of paint is lost he will either already have become my fishing buddy or decided he likes other things better.

Like you said chips and scrapes are not going to matter. Actually each one will give it character. Give it a coat of white first ad that orange will really pop with color.
