Short float with a new toy.

Recommended Posts

Very cool photos from.your new toy. I agree with BH on being scared of crashing or sinking it. Many years ago we went to a Top Gun RC airplane show and watched a guy fly his B52 WWII bomber with a 6 foot wingspan. It took off like a charm and just kept flying away until it crashed into the trees on the other side of the airfield. He lost contact and who knows how many hundreds or thousands of dollars. I would have that visual in my head if I flew a drone.

Good luck and stay in contact with your drone!

It’s really easy to fly. And if you just let go of the controls it will just hover where it’s at. Right now i have it in Beginner’s mode so it will only allow it to get 98 feet away.

But yes I’m terrified of crashing it or losing it. My wife wasn’t thrilled with the purchase so i don’t need to be telling her it just vanished.

I haven't checked the hunting regs to see if the use of drones will be outside of fair chase. I would think that they would be a great tool to scout that next field or just around that next bend for turkeys. Especially for fall turkey hunting when locating the birds is the biggest challenge.

All kinds of privacy issues cropping up with more and more drones being used.

       Oh the possibilities,

I can see you flying chum out over your favorite carp hole on the James. Dropping it in the right spot and slaying the big beasts. Camo the drone and put mufflers on it so you can be stealthy, :) .  Seriously it could be a great tool as John said for scouting things like routs on the river and potential fishing spots ahead on a stream you are not familiar with,

I can tell you for a fact that a 12 gauge 4 shot turkey load will bring one down privacy protected,,,,
