FishermanTodd 1 Report post Posted Sunday at 11:01 PM Went to my favorite smallmouth spot today, just below Bennett Springs. Unfortunately I only hooked up with one little guy. Water was brown and about 35 degrees air temperature. Last time I was at the same spot in mid March I caught 15. Will brown water and cold air really shut off a bite that much? fishinwrench 5,680 Report post Posted Monday at 02:13 AM Looking at the guage I'd say you hit it two days late, and two days early. 1 trythisonemv reacted to this
Gavin 1,310 Report post Posted Monday at 02:24 AM High water will make the fish move Around a bit. Slack water refuge spots near your low water spots can be productive. High, cold, and muddy is never a good bet.
FishermanTodd 1 Report post Posted Monday at 11:54 AM Thanks for the info guys! Hoping to hit it more consistently on the weekends until I graduate and then will be able to pick and chose my days for a better bite hopefully.
trythisonemv 518 Report post Posted Monday at 12:27 PM I grew up on this river and muddy is not good at all. Falling water can be good at the tail end if the weather cooperates. Almost spawning time as well so that will move them
