I read a lot of lyrics partly because I cannot hear the music. you get a different perspective  reading them. Seems to me most of the time They make no sense or and many do deliver morally wrong msg about things like drinking, sex and Infidelity or even violence. I can see where that when hooked to a good tune might have a negative impact.

Story telling artists like Beatles, The Doors, and Beck are good for not making sense. You're like what are these people talking about?  Guess that's what can get you hooked because you dig deep into it trying to find the meaning.

On another note the genius about some lyrics is it can be interpreted several ways, which gives a broader audiance a way to relate.

What's your Magical Mystery Tour? 😁

As strange as it seems I have a friend that writes lyrics and has sung them all over the world. The thing is almost without fail  carry a msg or else are related too her own life experiences and her faith.  She flat refuses to write about violence, and most of the ills in our society. I respect that a great deal.

The awesomeness of the Beatles always escaped me.  I just never "got it".  Kinda like the "brilliance" of Andy Kaufman.

Never could stand Rodney Dangerfield either.   How any of the above became famous is beyond me.

Micheal Jackson - Don't stop til you get enough

Could of swore the lyrics were, "Get up, you're the porn star, don't stop til you get enough!" 😄

Those kind of lyrics are really counter productive to behavior we would like to see in our society. I know from my hearing days back in the 50s and 60s I was real impressed with country honky tonk tunes with wild drinking and running around lyrics  It turned me into one a first class Honky Tonk Man just like the lyrics from that song for awhile. Doing things that I am ashamed of having done after all these many years. This friend of mine almost ruined her carrier over refusing to sing and play honky tonk stuff.. Closest I have ever known her to get to it now days is the song Jolene that she recorded with Dolly Parton..I Have great respect for this lady and her strong belief in in good clean lyrics.

Excellent strategy my friend!  The next time I do something that pisses my wife off I am gonna blame it on Aerosmith. 😂

The time I wasted tossing spoons the other day I blame on all of you guys here, because if y'all hadn't been singing about THAT then I would have started slow-rolling a spinnerbait earlier and definately would have caught more keepers.

Don't be putting bad ideas in my head, you devilish basturds!

Amazed at so many anti Beatles fans. The music stands the test of time. I'm not a fanatic and always considered The Beatles and The Rolling Stones tied for the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.
