Those blue gill patterns where done by BB lures and are great in every way. They do an excellent job. But they are $18.00 for the crankbait paint job and $ 25 for the swimbait paint job. Also, the wait time is a minimum of 3 months. 3 MONTHS. So I don't think $12 for a paint job is pricey at all. As for the Norman Flake, we invented that color back in the 90's and now all of the major manufacturers mass produce it. Here is a $12 blue gill and we can and the little brown fin if you wish.

I meant no offense and $12 is more than reasonable for cranks and other baits. But the lures I am going to have painted are indeed jointed swimbaits and per your pricing are $25 a pop. I am sure the time and effort required to paint a segmented bait, that is not unreasonable either. I have a handful that need to be done and having $100+ tied up in paint alone......makes my palms sweat and probably Bo's head explode. lol. I'll shoot you a PM soon.

Hey abk, I've known you long enough to assure Tim that you meant no ill. But let me tell you this … I've had Tim do some work for me that included me telling him specifically what I wanted in a couple of jerk bait custom colors and he nailed it. Better yet, his paint jobs are finished out to perfection and as hard as I've tried not to, I've banged those jerk baits on rocks and docks without getting so much as a scratch on them. Very durable.

Sure, $100 in paint work is enough to make anyone quiver a bit. But in my mind, that's all the more reason to use Tim.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Rick Brouwer in Rogers does a great job.  Charges 10$.

I work with Rick at his daytime job.   I have a dozen or more beautiful baits he has given me and Champ188.  Some unique colors and patterns with great attention to detail.  Company name is Brouwer Baits.  He sells direct and also has his baits at Hook, Line & Sinker in Rogers.

Meant to mention, he'll also paint your baits, as well as painting blanks for sell in the box.  I'll post some pictures this weekend of a few.

Well said, Tim. I don’t know why anyone would want to use another painter.

I sent them off to Tim yesterday. Can't wait to get them back in a few weeks.
