CoolHandFluke Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Interesting story for those of us that live close to Joplin. https://www.joplinglobe.com/news/updated-missouri-american-identifies-two-reservoir-sites/article_5df9f0ca-f4cc-11e8-96f1-bbd61095ca1a.html
Mhyde Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 If this does happen to one of these spots, you better get your maps updated to what the lay of the land is right before they flood it. 😎 Also I did see a story on KY3 here in Springfield a few months ago that one of the options that was being looked at was to do a study and see if a Pump system could be installed on the West side of Stockton to pump water like the do on the East side for Springfield.....😳 I'm not sure the lake could handle that much water being pumped out.
Members crappie-hunter Posted January 11, 2019 Members Posted January 11, 2019 Unfortunately they have no plans to open it up for recreation of any kind due the added expense of filtration when the body water is used for recreation. If it goes through the way they plan- all we can do is look at it from afar...

snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 If they approve recreational use I doubt they will allow gas motors.
Flysmallie Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Luckily Springfield allows recreational use of their main water source which includes gas engines. They don’t allow swimming.
