New little visitor in the yard...

Recommended Posts

My wife was out working in the garden the other day and came across this little guy.  We are new to country living and thought is was abandoned by the mother. Googled it and found out the mother places it in the same place each morning and then goes and feeds and comes back in the evening to take care of it. Then she places it right back in the same spot the next morning. Pretty cool watching the mother come back to nurse it and take it away for the night. I really need to mow that area once that little guy starts feeding on his own.

Never touch or move a fawn. The mother will always come back for her unless something happens to the mother.

No better advice than this. Too many "orphaned" fawns get moved by well meaning folks that end up being raised by humans and not their mothers.
