What is the record release for Truman Dam?

Would a gauge on the Osage at Rt7 Warsaw have the same level as the lake? USGS has one there and if my math is right the current reading is 662.6 or 663.7 depending on which sea level datum is used, which by the way might account for the reporting differences.

That would be Truman tailwater level.  Not Lake Ozark level.   The only guage for LO level is at Bagnell dam as far as I know.

My observation yesterday was at MM15 on the Gravois (backwater) and it was over a foot above 660 for sure.

None of this is a BIG DEAL or anything, especially to me.   But this data goes down in the books as "RECORDS".   What good are false records?

Three datums are used for sea level that vary by  1.13' so if using different datum the results could vary that much. So, from the dam  to a far (say 50 miles)  away back water the water will the level be the same?

No definitely not.     Otherwise it wouldn't be "flowing".

But water is backing UP the Gravois arm right now, so the level there is actually going to be slightly lower than it is at Bagnell.....until it starts moving the right direction again.

Up here on the Niangua the level hasn't changed by more than 3 or 4 inches up and down in a week. Not much flow, we must be getting the backwater. I'd quess the level to be 659.5. I did notice it's a bit dirtier, don't know if the rains or Trumans' water caused it. Water has about 12 to 18" visibility today.
