You don't close them for the summer,  you just close the ones you know are going to be closed for a while.  Especially through he July 4th weekend, people need time to make or change their plans.  The rains predicted over the Osage basin for the next few days will tell the tale about pool records, releasing water etc.  Pomme is still sitting at .24 below record pool with only the minimum outflow.  Something over 50% of campsites there are closed at least through the holiday weekend.  Most will be closed much longer.  The rules for when and how much water to release are fairly cut and dried and don't get deviated from without a seriously good reason.

MO Panfisher, what was the record level of Stockton? Just looked and at 11 AM today it is at 884.95.  For me, the lake is not useable at it's current level.  Have heard that Lake of the Ozarks as well as Truman have been allowed to open up their outflow due to dropping water levels in the rivers.  Hopefully they will soon be able to begin a draw down of Stockton as well.

Someone called the Corp office and got the information. They posted it on an earlier thread but I haven't been able to find it.

I just checked the water levels at Caplinger Mill and it seems like they started running some water out of Stockton yesterday. I figured if they drop the lake 1" a day it will take them 7 months to get back to power pool level IF it doesn't rain any more. I then looked at the long range rain forcast and cried.

Ugghhh
