WHEELER SMOKES EM ON EUFAULA!

Recommended Posts

now, one should see how effective the new electronics are.  wheeler is demonstrating that very fact.  if the rest of the competition does not catch up with the learning curve, wheeler will just leave everyone in the dust.

great job young man.

a friend of mine got to deep fish a couple of time with the new live scope.  he just killed them both times.  what few crappie we have had better look out.  fishing will become about like fishing in roaring river for trout.  you pick out your prey and go after it.  my buddy that got to use the live scope said you could what the fish and your lure and see how they were reacting to it, and just keep adjusting your presentation until you got it to bite.  amazing stuff.

but, i will just have to keep using my old antiquated electronics and give the fish a chance😀.

in my humble opinion, young jacob is the best out there right now, and he is only going to get better as he figures out all one can do with the new technology.  it did not seem that he was using live scope to watch his prey.  when he begins doing that, the fish do not stand a chance.  he has a great fishing mind and believes his electronics.

i forgot to mention that wheeler proved something that i have known for decades and that is deep bass will bite in dead muddy water.  knowing that fact has won me a lot of derbies over on grand lake.  there are lots of 20 to 25 ft. bass over there that never have a lure thrown at them.  bass are supposed to be shallow in muddy water right?  well, sometimes they are, but there are still many that are hanging out deeper.

great example is the mud that was in the kings before i went to alabama.  we finally did catch a few up on the bank, but caught way more 15 to 20 ft. deep on a doodle.

So much truth here.  You give naturally gifted sticks these kinds of tools and it is a game changer.  If some of these guys don't get better at using the technology really quick they are gonna get left behind on a lot of these lakes.  Especially in the Bass Pro MLF format where you have to catch numbers.

Just wait until a tournament when they are on the beds and guys are catching them while keeping the boat 50 feet away.  Could get crazy.

Also, MLF format really makes things interesting.  Wheeler had that thing wrapped up but kept fishing pretty hard to try to catch a big fish for the Heavy Hitters.

Check out this video about the setup Wheeler is using on the bow. He runs Humminbird, Lowrance and Garmin as they all seem to excel at certain things. I'm sure he could get any one of those guys to sponsor him, but he feels it's worth more to buy the units out of pocket so he isn't limited to one brand. He makes a pretty good case after the show he put on at Eufala.

Jeez. At what point do you call it GRAPHING instead of FISHING.

If it was all about the graphs, then everybody at Eufala should have been able to do what Wheeler did, but that was far from the case. Graphs did help him find those fish, but he had to know when it was right to go back and try to make them bite. He said he couldn't catch them prior to that point.

I'm not bashing by any means.  Just kinda speaking in generalities. The graphing is getting OUT OF HAND.

Hes basically giving up a paycheck from one of the companies this year to find out what his best set up is.  He explains everything in all his videos if you guys follow him.  And if he wins a few hundred grand in the process of learning then good for him.  Anyone in the business could do the exact same thing he is doing right now and good for him!! "In My Opinion" this guy is an animal and one of the most down to earth guys on tour.  He Loves his job and puts in the time and work for it.  Hats off to him and I would be willing to say this wont be the only win of this season.
