I've only tried it on Shortnose Gar...I always wondered if maybe it would work better on Longnose Gar. I had good luck this summer on flies...about a size 10 hook. 3 different flies...a woolly bugger, a mop fly, and a rubbertailed beadhead nymph thing (I don't know what its called...bought it at T. Devan S. Posted October 18, 2020 Share Posted October 18, 2020 I've been looking for gar.......Arkansas Master Angler is 10lb.....I thought it would be the easiest to do as I knew a pretty good spot. Just wish I could have weighed this dinosaur before it chomped me, biggest one I've ever seen.
