The Winter Finley

Really like that Ozark bass. I have only fished the Finley once and that was this last summer when we were back in MO.

Only had about 30 mins to fish, but caught a couple of green sunfish and an Ozark bass on a John Deere microjig under a float. Fished below the dam in Ozark MO.

Nice fish. I might’ve eaten that Ozark bass. What part of the Ozarks are you in?

I'm not. I used to live in Columbia, but now actually live in Maryland. Have family, i.e., kids, living in MO and KS so plan to be back that way a few times per year.

I love talking about the Finley. But it will be a bit warmer before I start harassing those fish there.

@Flysmallieyou must be trout fishing or something

Yeah I’ve done a little of that. They are fun on dries. Then there will be whites. And then I can go back to the smallies. Plus I hate the cold anymore.

@Johnsfollyoh I see. How’s smallmouth fishing in your parts?

I've been here over 2 yrs and have not caught a smallmouth bass in Maryland. A lot of that is me chasing new species. However the smallie fishing from what folks that catch them here describe is not as good as in MO. I have smallies shy from baits when I have actually fished for them. Miss those ozark creeks and streams.
