Fished a little tournament on the Osage Saturday and had this beast eat my little cricket !!

MDC took a DNA test today and they have the fish.  Should know in a few weeks.  If it’s a pure Sauger, which they think it is , it crushed the state record by a pound.

I bet it fought like a sack of dead kittens.   😂

Sauger and walleye do not jump or make long runs. However, a six pound fish on light line argues with authority, especially near the end where it makes power dives at the end. We once had a member called powerdive. BTW, why are you denigrating walleye? Go after crappie first.

I wasn't denigrating them, they are delicious.  And can even be kinda pretty at timesScreenshot_20210201-190120~2.png

But you can't deny that (inch-for-inch) even a crappie fights harder.

I've always kinda figured that the reason why everything on them will cut you to the bone.....was to make up for the fact that they have no @$$  😅
