MK Terrova question

I have a terrova tm I want to give my son in law but he doesn't have room for the third battery.  So the question is - can he run it on 24v and if he does, what can he expect?

80# and below are 24v and only require 2 batteries...is this motor a 112#?

if its a 36v and you run it on 24v it will be very hard on the motor and i wouldn't expect it to last. Low voltage will kill it

Could he get creative with agms?  They can be mounted most any way.

The old 12/24 motors still had only 2 wires down to the armature. They switched the voltage over just ahead of the rheostat.   So I guess possibly you could convert a 36 to a 24 by getting a 24v rheostat (speed switch).   

Not sure though. I've never tried it.
