Went up from b-landing this morning to the bend about 8:30 a.m.(water temp 54 and no wind) fished 1 laydown tree with monkeymilk/chartreuse paddle tail jigs for about an hour and had my limit-all 11" or bigger. Breeze picked up and bite went away. Good luck!
Was there last Sunday when lake was 2' lower- launched from ramp turn around...lake was full of huge logs and debris. I have wrote off crappie fishing until lake settles down just fyi
Was out yesterday-caught around a dozen(mostly shorts with 3 keepers) drop shotting minnows in brush piles in 16'-20' of water. Temp was 49.5° at b-landing around 9 a.m. and 54° around 83 marina around noon
Caught them all in 3-4 fow in a cove that was no more than 6' deep...went today & had another 9 from about 8:30 til just before 1 p.m. Better bite on bobber/minnow but couple on chartreuse jig.
Been fishing from the bank around Bolivar landing and have done pretty well. They seem to be just starting to consistently show up within the last few days. The bite has started getting good after 7 p.m. in about 3 to 4 fow, catching them on both jigs and bobber/minnows. Had 11 last night with only 2 of those being females. Don't know how much that helps but it's a start.
Caught 11 in a cove around Bolivar landing friday evening with the bite really picking up between 720-810...the males had some pretty ragged tails and the females eggs were bloody. Hope this helps.
