  1. K well we are staying at copper Johns so we will be up by the dam for the most part. I understand what you are saying about the glass though, I will get with him and see what he has to say. Im game with rentals the others are more about bring their own. As always thanks again ham it is appreciated.
  2. Ham just out of curiosity I will be heading down there in early March. We are taking one flat bottom and had planned on renting another when we get there. One of the guys has a 25 hp 16' mod v bass tracker, would you advise against bring it and just renting. We only come down once a year so you would know the river much better than us.
  3. How do you think catfish point and and point just west of it will be?
  4. How high is the water right now? Is it worth doing any bank fishing?
  5. I have been looking forward to taking a trip over to grand lake to do some cat fishing and was wondering if there were any reports
  6. My son is wanting to take me fishing tonight for father's day (he is 5) he is infatuated with catfish and I was wondering how the fishing is with the high water.
  7. A few friends and I are going to below bull shoals in early March. We are all from the bentonville area mostly and will be staying at copper Johns resort. I was wondering if you guys had any pointers and decent places we should hit up in the three days we will be down there. Any info would be great. Also we will be doing mostly spinning except for me and anot her may sneak off and do some fly. Thanks
  8. Yeah I looked up the regulations before I tried it and I used a circle hook with no barb. Like I said, I am no bait fisherman no patience for posting up and sitting still, it just amazed me how quickly it took the bait. I will say that I am rather intrigued by the storm wild eye sculpin lure. Looks very realistic. Sorry if I upset anyone for stating I used dead bait.
  9. Caught a very nice brownie this morning at parkers off of a dead sculpin that I found. Normally I fish my countdowns when I fish below the dam but for some reason I decided to tie on a hook and cast it out within minutes I landed it. My question is though what is the best way to catch sculpins and has anyone used the storm wild eye sculpin lure.
  10. Oh yeah I have seen cameras and met some very unfriendly landowners. The access at the hwy 59 bridge was my first adventure to spavinaw, it was a chilly day in February. I saw many nice fish but I could tell I was being watched by a land owner that was slowly making his way toward me. After an hour or so I left. I made my way back up there a few weeks later only to find out the access road had been blocked off with a three foot high rock pile. So I turned around I got my CJ 7 out of the garage and parked it on top of the rock pile. Within ten minutes I had the land owner telling me I was not allowed there. I bit my tongue told him to have a nice day and left. If you have land owner permission I would take full advantage of it and enjoy your time on it. If you call the game and fish they will tell you there is no real access points on the arkansas side and they have no real answer why it is in the hand book. Give them a call and hear it for yourself. Good luck and let me know how everything goes would love to have a little time up there.
  11. I would love to believe these statement are true. Living close to this stream and also attempting to fish it within the last year, dealing with the land owners, and being denied access to what I assumed to be public land, would be great. I do know for a fact that the game and fish has not stocked it for several years and have unsuccessfully tried to buy land on it. Unless something has changed drastically here recently, many of the land owners on the stream, have many connections to the local and state governments made through the worlds largest employer. I hope something can be done but I'm not gonna hold my breath on it
  12. How far is the trip from bakers to Gilbert. We are floating next weekend and looking for a nice day float with good fishing
  13. Thank you for that so if we were looking to do more fishing than paddling what in you opinion would be the best trip to take to be able to maximize the fishing
  14. Hey guys, I'm new to forum but love everything I read my friends and I are wanting to do a three day float of the elk this summer and I need some help and info. We were looking into starting at mikes creek and ending around shadow lake. We were wondering about where we could park our cars at the start and finish of the trip, good places to camp (not in camp grounds) and any other info that the great forum can gives us. Thanks BTW Chief I love ready your posts they are the best
