Costa Rica 2009

Just wanted to post some pics of our trip to Costa Rica for you guys on the forum. They are posted on my facebook account as well, along with some videos which I will try to post here to later.

These pics are of the beach and Pacific Ocean, as well as some animals at Manuel Antonio National Park.

Cashew Fruit and Nut

Lots of these little hummers

One of the places we stayed. Cool huts.

Water heater system.

Coffee Beans growing on the side of the mountains.

On top of their Great Divide, separating the east and west side of Costa Rica.

Last place we stayed- a/c and TV's - upscale! Really didn't need either- or want it after staying at the first 3 places. We were used to the heat and humidity.

Our fishing trip- this is Chito our guide- not fishing guide but guide for the whole week's trip. Great guy- knows his birds, animals, reptiles and plants! This was his first time fishing offshore and he loved it. He grew up hand line fishing in the rivers.

This was Brooke, one of the kids from Venice High. She twisted her ankle and couldn't go surfing with the kids so she got stuck fishing with us... she caught a nice rooster!

Dave and Chito

This is Saverge Verda, a quiet little place where we hiked to the White Oak Cloud Forest over 10,000 feet in elevation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montezuma_Oropendola -- a great bird and cool nests.

This little birds really liked us... wish I knew it's name.

Small pineapple start.

Kids catching small rainbows... and releasing them.

Water fall we hiked to. Some of the kids went in... it was cold!

Barry and Shala- Marsha' sis and bro in law.

First place we stayed- Selva Verda by the river.

The river was blown out by debry from an earthquake in January this year. You can see all the trees that came down the river along with alot of soil and ash. It not the beautiful river it was but locals say it will clean itself up during the rainy season.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oophaga_pumilio -- poison dart frogs... real cool!!

Hannah with a BIG beetle!!! This sucker was 6 inches long, not counting its legs.

Yes screens only!

Great times!!!

I'm putting a trip together for next January if anyone is interested!
