  1. Had a good day for a change! Got on the water by 7 am and fished Cow to Indian point. We had 21 fish and 9 keepers! Total weight would have been 13.06. And a real nice SM that went a hair over 4 lbs. The senko was hot early and then nothing by 10 am but the jig bite picked up alot! Was throwing Bo's Nutech jigs in PBJ 3/8 and 1/2 oz.! had some nice FAT spots,I think some are still on beds.Oh we had two on tubes too. Water temp. was 68 at the start and by the end 71-72.Water was maybe two feet of visibility. I think this is my first fishing report, just thought I would share!

  3. Fished Friday and Saturday along the West causeway. Stinking Creek arm of Thomas Hill. Got in a few hours each day inbetween rain showers, thunder storms, wind, and other things that needed to be done. Between three of us we managed to get around 44 nice slabs in the two days. red/chartruse or blue/chartruse tubes 6-7' under a float cast about 30' or so out to various brush piles pn either side. A few small channel cat as well. No Hybirds yet. I talked to a couple bass fishermen as they went past me. They said they saw people catching fish along the East causeway also. The

  4. Trolled a 1/4 oz chartreuse minnow and a beetle spin in 20-30 foot in a cove center of the lake. 2 keeper crappie 2 smells, 2 small bass, 1 walleye that got off at the boat. First time trolling in my life, first trip to Stockton ever, 2 channel cat and some bluegill all we've caught the last 2 days, so tonight was great. My nephew had a blast, thanks for all the Intel you all put on here.

  5. There are already more bass than all other game fish combined. Thats my opinion from scuba diving in TR and Bull. It would really blow some peoples minds if they ever went under for 20 min and seen how many bass there are and even how many keepers. Very rarely if you make a cast into a brush pile there wont be a few keepers in it. Getting them to bite is a different story. We may hit 10-15 brush piles before we run into a school of crappie, but the bass are just everywhere. Hopefully we will get some good visibility this summer and i can get some video to share with everyone

    Fabulous day

I took my nephew fishing today on the Middle Meramec, and he caught two 19" smallies. What is more, I landed a 18" and 20" smallmouth. Photos of mine are below, and his are in the next post (I couldn't get all four pictures to upload at once).

  10. Slept in a bit this morning to get a little needed rest and got out around 9:30. My wife outfished me dragging the Ned behind the boat and caught 4 short smallies and a small channel cat. I had one short spot on a jig and what I think was a meanmouth on a biffle bug. Looked just like a smallmouth but it was more green than brown. It's hard to see but it's the first picture. Tough bite with this high sky. Water cooled down a bit where we were to 67-68.

Below Ozark park. Was catching decent goggle eye, about 7 of them. Switched it up from crank to a senko and hooked this. Was fun getting it in across the current. Came in at exactly 3lb. Was hoping to hook up a smallie, but I've yet to do so this spring.

    Thank you

Just returned home from our 2 week trip to the rock. I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for all the tips and information that is posted on here that I believe made my fishing more successful. Mostly fished the lower to mid James. Always great information here and I'm glad so many folks are willing to share. Hope to get back in the fall. Tight lines to all, Bob.

  18. Mark Twain was the thing back in the day. Had many memorable days up there and nights, wrench. We won a bass world night event there with 24lbs. 6 fish though. It still takes 16+ to win most tournaments up there until August. Then 16 might win the 2 day Bud Light in September. One of my best fishing days ever was at Twain, probably in mid 90's. A misty, early June day. Mid week. Had gotten a tip it was time. Took a couple of days off work. Fished in Pigeon and Ely creeks. Post spawn. You could call your shots on any tree with a fork in it. Zara Spook or a white sluggo. Didn't cou

  32. I fished (practically lived on it) MT during its early years and it was fabulous. I moved to Georgia for 4 years and when I returned it was immediately obvious that something had went bad wrong. Even though I was a better fisherman with a better boat I couldn't even come close to the success we enjoyed before. Eventually I just gave up on it, and a few years later moved to Lake O and haven't been back but 2 times for reassuring butt kickings. So what is it taking these days to win a derby there ? Back in the day you were getting a check with 14, and would undoubtedly win with 17+.

  33. After your glue sets. I give it a few minutes. Open your clamps. If it helps do some marking on the blanks . Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't but just starting it can help you. Just a rough draft, Tie to start carving. I use a small exacto. Keep it sharp. Either change blades often of sharpen often. I have a diamond hone and then drag on a leather strop to keep blades lasting longer, Start taking off sharp corners, Then taper the sides, Round off corners again, This is where I begin to start sanding some. 120 grit

  35. I'd just make sure if u have kids in the boat to wear your life jackets people and their "water sports" are stupid and have no care for others plus the guys that are out running the party boats are doing just that partying which makes it very unsafe conditions I will skip fishing this weekend and wait till Tuesday or Wednesday next week to get back on the water imo no it's not worth fighting the ski boats for bank space

  37. Beardsley Creek was actually named Snakesley Creek originally due to the unimaginable amount of snakes that patrolled it's waters. Somewhere in the early 60's the name was changed because nobody dared venture into that creek with that name. Could hardly sell property, a home or much less a dock in those parts. True story. 87% of all cottonmouths in Missouri live in Beardsley. Don't go in that creek if you know whats good for you.

Can't say I've got it down as good as you, but I've got some poppers that look pretty with green on top, white on bottom and stippling to blend. I've got a bunch of old drill bits and other stuff that I use.

  40. Good prices and an excellent source of materials, epoxy, tools from http://duckworksbbs.com/ On my Ozarkian that I built I used the Marinepoxy resin. It's the economy resin but it works well, very easy to mix and use, 2:1 ratio. Order the pumps in the tools section. I have found after three gallons that they are very accurate in maintaining ratio. They gig you pretty good on shipping of epoxy so if you are on the fence between the 3 quart kit and 1.5 gallon kit go up. It keeps a long time (years) so you will be set for the next season. I oped for the 3 gallon kit and ended up havin

Got my typical late start, launching off the parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Have to say, it wasn't a bit harder than using the ramp under normal conditions and the caretakers of the courtesy dock had it pulled up and usable. Started out with a blade and square bill on the deck and found the scattered hardwoods and flooded backyard grass I was looking for without much effort. Finding the bass wasn't quite as easy. Ran several good stretches without a sniff. Finally pulled out a finesse jig, started flipping it in some willows and came up with a keeper LM. Probably should have stuck with that app

  50. So I have been wanting to fish the Lane Spring area of the Little Piney for over a year now. The last two times I had set time aside to go, the creek was blown out both those weekends. Yesterday everything finally looked like it was a go. Met up with a good buddy of mine around 7:00 am and hit the road for Lane Spring from the St louis area. The weather forecast for the day was calling for some wind and the occasional overcast skies with a high of 48 dropping throughout the afternoon. Arrived at Lane spring and it was calm and sunny. Only one other truck in the parking lot when we arrived and
