  1. This guy was confused...Hit a D2 jig lol. 15 min before I hooked him my buddy lost a 10ish lb brown under a log. It was heartbreaking! Thought we’d get at least one big brown pic -the others were all in the 15-18” range. Oh well, this guy was a blast on 4lb test sos line.

    Cape Fair 3/22

Got a late start. Didn’t get to the water until 09:00. I fished from Cape Fair down to Cainey Creel. I fished a spinnerbait, a shaky and some cranks. The only fish came on a crank, both Bandit 300s and Rock Krawlers. The WW got no love. I missed a few and lost a few but wound up catching 9. Most were spots. Three were keepers. Some of the spots were heavy with eggs. There was no rhyme or reason to the location. The lake gave up a fish for about every 1/2 mile of bank. That’s too many casts for an old fart. It’s nap time. My hat is off to the guys who did so well over t

  5. What a toad of a yellow perch! That one has been eating well and looks to be loaded with eggs. Jefferson County angler catches new state record yellow perch The 2-pound, 7-ounce fish is the first state record of 2021. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) congratulates Sharon Christopher of Cedar Hill for catching a new state record yellow perch. Christopher was fishing at Bull Shoals Lake March 7 when she caught the 2-pound, 7-ounce fish.

  6. I renovated an old farm pond on my property a few years back. Decided to try something other than the normal bluegill/largemouth/channel cat mix. Stocked forage minnows spring of '19, redear sunfish and northern crayfish June of '19, yellow perch September of '19. Caught this one a couple days ago.

  10. Had a great time hanging out with all of you guys. As mentioned above, I rode in Mike's boat @liphunter. Ultra nice guy. We fished hard, but neither of us know Tablerock very well. We worked the water we covered very well. Just could not get them to bite. The food and fellowship was as great as always. A bit of a cold start, first time I had my guides freeze while fishing, but, I earned a sunburn also. Had a little mishap while setting up camp. I camped out at Roaring River State Park, I accidentally took someone's reserved site. I returned Saturday after the tournament, there w

  14. Spring seems to be a common factor when I catch carp when fishing for other stuff. I catch them on Bull and Norfork in the Spring on crappie jigs and smaller bass offerings. I honestly think they are hungry after not feeding much during winter and maybe it's a President binge since they don't eat much during the spawn. Here's a Zig Jig trout from the White River.

  17. We had a great day for a tournament albeit a windy one. Every kind of bait you can imagine was used as the bite was a bit tough for most everyone however the team of Reagan, Riehn and Hyland prevailed and got first with a weight of 9.57lbs with Riehn catching big fish at 2.21 lbs and Hyland had a 1.86 lb trout for 2nd big fish. The team of Snapp, Ruffel and Reagan got 2nd with a weight of 8.06 lbs and the team of Hofstetler, Wolf and Moreland got third with 7.32 lbs and I was fortunate and got 3rd big fish with a 1.67 trout. We wish to thank Phil for all the things him and his staff does to he

Daryl, the toasted ravioli was a nice touch. Don’t forget to try Nonna’s on Gravois. Let me know what you think. By the way, I live here on the lake and I still don’t know it very well. But fishing highland reservoirs are still fun. Great seeing you and the rest of the crowd. Mike

  19. I did the same thing around the same time. All of the Missouri River sloughs were murky muddy water. But absoluteIy loaded with them. I could catch dozens with corn but not a sniff on the flies. I tried everything. I honestly think they couldn't see them and since they don't smell.... Well no bites. My kids mauled them on corn though.

    The Force

I think he might be talking Trolling motor Garmin Force. The Garmin Force, We finally got it out this weekend. Love the trolling motor. Pedal takes just a little bit to get use to, as it is more responsive. You have to program thru the remote for spot lock to work, but it is self explained thru the process. Speed is good on 10. as it is on all speeds. We ran mostly on #3 bar. We have garmin 106 connected to it with livescope, programed the livescope compass also. Very happy with the trolling motor. If I had to buy a trolling motor again it would be a force.

  23. A great day for fishing, it was cold to begin with, but by the time of the weigh-in it was a pleasantly warm, sunny afternoon. We'll have to make sure that going forward M&M picks the date for us as he did a fine job of getting us scheduled into a nice day to fish. Quite a few bass were caught, but a tough day to get big fish. 2.9 largemouth was the winner with several more around 2.5 lbs. weighed in. Jerkbaits and Rock Crawlers were working well, I heard of fish being caught on bluff ends, bank transitions, and in the backs of pockets and coves. Several accidental trout were

They fight way better on light line than 200lb test with an arrow through em 🙂 One of those European long rod finesse fisherman read that and got outraged LOL

  30. I'm a transplant. Moved here in 2006 when I was 13 from Minnesota. I'm kind of indifferent about Missouri, but I think a lot of it is a grass is always greener scenario. Weather wise we get the worst of everything. Heat like the south, cold like the north. Ice storms, tornadoes, snow fall, and heat waves. We got occasional 90+ heat waves in Minnesota, but not like here. And it actually cooled off at night. Of course that is offset by the 5-6 solid months of winter. The low cost of living here was nice, but seems to be going away rapidly with the influx of new residents.

    Why The Ozark?

Time I remember driving 73 HWY seeing the sign for Lead Mine. Little did I know one day I would live and over time found it was me. Remember when I met my Ex we travelled to Lebanon to visit her family. Back then it was a trip. Years ago I had a hunting trip in Arkansas decided to go down 5 HWY and cut across 64 HWY to Bennett Springs, camp and fish there. At the time found it exciting just the drive. Now live on 64 HWY close to the park. Interesting how the Lord finds a place for His children. oneshot

  34. I have no idea. Why not just have some sort of grommet/boot that it would run straight through without bending the wires? Makes no sense, but it did work for a long time. Have to figure out a better answer when the motors get here (yeah, bought two, for now anyway). One of the strangest parts I have seen on a bass boat. Has that over-engineered look about it, a solution in need of a problem.
